Raptors G DeMar DeRozan has a torn left adductor longus tendon. Toronto expects to know more about DeRozan's timetable to return in a week.

I don't know what that is, but it doesn't sound good

It's a groin muscle. Lets just say that is not good news for Toronto. Groin injuries can be very difficult to recover, let alone a tear

Groin injuries are nagging as ****.. I've dealt with them all my life as a snowboard and skateboarder. Pain in the arse to get rid off.

yep good thing is they hopefully get it fixed early, if not it will keep tearing untill you get a hernia

That sucks, hate to see any player get injured but especially a player of his caliber on a good team. Silver lining, it happened early in the season and SHOULD be back for a playoff run.

good news is- they play in the east, so as long as they have a general interest in winning games they should stay in the playoff picture

if the raptors were in the west- they could kiss their season good bye

That sucks, I need the Raptors to be a high seed so the Nets have a chance to win a playoff round.

Well, I guess it's fair to assume that Kobe is gonna have his first 75 point game this season on Sunday

Not happening.

Raptors are still a very good team. Lots of depth. They're going to be fine.

Connects from the thigh bone to the hip bone, flexes the thigh at the hip and pulls the thigh toward the midline. Also laterally rotates the thigh. Not the worst tendon to tear, but is one that isn't often torn.

Honestly, I predict they'll be just as good, if not better, without Derozan. He's a ball stopper and not a strong defender. They'll be fine.

Hopefully he comes back strong though. Not a fun injury.

He could be back in as little as 3 and a half weeks to a month and some change.

who is in your sig?!?!? holy crap.

As an aside :
Demar going down sucks, I'm hoping this puts ross and jval into the spotlight and forces them to take on bigger roles. Specifically Ross, maybe he can figure out how to become a little more consistent in his absence. As bad as it is to have an injury to an all-star, at least the Raps have plenty of depth, so the loss of him won't be quite as painful.

We cant hang with many teams, but the Raptors are our little b-es, just like 07 and this year we'd beat you guys in your own home court...

why bring up the 07 team, are those two teams similar in any way? and like i said both teams were evenly matched, you won by one point.

I dont think you used the word ironic properly, you might wanna re-look over the meaning. But I think you meant to say was that hey, the knicks might have a chance. Wrong, the raptors are the 1st seed. A first seed doesnt crumble so much to the point where theyd have almost as bad of a record like the kniks, not a chance. the knixks would be smart to keep tanking and get a high pick.

I think this as well... If it was Lowry I'd be concerned.

teams were double teaming derozan, now other guys will have more hard time with defenses focused on them.

I actually like DD so it sucks that he's injured.

They may play better as a team but having him out hurts them

There only 3 and a half games from the the 4th seed so I can see them falling a bit depending how long he's out

Well the Raps are playin the West on the road. Might have a tough time out there.

I think this team's best and worst case scenario could be playing .500 ball till he gets back.

Really depends on which Terrence Ross we will see during this time.

LanceUpperCut

The fact we have lots of depth at the SG is the only reason having DD out won't hurt us too, too much but the DD haters will see how important he is when every teams game plan isn't to stop DeMar and they start looking at ways to stop Lowry.

Ross has an opportunity to step it up, will he? If i was a betting man I'd say no, he might have a couple awesome games but he also more then likely has as many stinkers.

Considering we have a 6 game lead in the first month of Ball I'm not too worried about missing DD for a month.

Adductor is your groin, I have strained by adductor before and while obviously a tear is worse, an adductor injury is not as bad as say a hamstring or calf. DeRozan is expected to be out for a month, luckily the Raptors have depth.
