The reason it was close cause Casey played guys like Hayes to start the fourth. If the team would've came out in the fourth full force we would've killed them. That's the reason we didn't deserve to win but we are the better team without a doubt.

That doesn't make sense...

The Raps thoroughly outplayed the Suns for 3 quarters. The only reason the Suns came back in the 4th was because they kept hitting contested 3's, some were wide open, and Raps coach decided to start the "bum lineup" that absolutely can't play. Guys like Chuck Hayes can't play at all. He's just a body to pick up fouls and guard big men(which the Suns don't really have). Both of those factors combined allowed the Suns to make it close in the 4th.

In the end the Raps were the better team.

Hayes is good in some situations. He's quicker than all power Centers and he's like a tree if opposing bigs are back to the basket and like to get low post position- this is where is Hayes is decent and excels. unfortunetaly, there are only a few plyayers like that - i.e. Dwight, Marc Gasol for example.

Hayes had a few good plays this game because of his cutting ability and being at the right place at the right time and can give you 2-4 points a game and good defense on big heavy players. Stringy players and stretch bigs, forget about playing Hayes.

Seem's like people say this after every game, like if the Raps don't completely dominate the whole game then for some reason they don't deserve to win. Suns are good but jacking three's in the 4th non stop like they did is either going to get you back in or just lose by an even bigger blow out.

mightybosstone
11-24-2014, 11:58 PM
This is why I questioned how good that Mavericks team was going to be. Their offense is prolific when they're firing on all cylinders, but if they can't put up 110 every night, they're not going to beat many teams with that defense. Their perimeter defense, especially, needs to get a hell of a lot better if they're supposed to be taken seriously as a contender.

The only game I thought the Raps were lucky to win this year was the one against the Grizzlies. The Grizzlies were without Lee and Tony Allen. The Grizzlies had totally out played them and badly out rebounded them for 3 quarters. Then in the 4th T-Ross, who had been having a dreadful game, goes off and scores 14 points. If Tony Allen is there you have to think he shuts him down, or at least slows him down.

Apart from the Grizzlies game, which they still managed to win, the Raps have proven their worth and should be recognized as one of the top 5 teams in the league.

But Houston is a serious contender right. That's what you want us to believe? Compare how far you guys have gone in the playoffs the last 10 years, now compare that to Dallas. Now factor in that Houston is the exact same team as last year overall, and now factor in that Dallas got a bit better.

Yes because 24 year olds never get any better at basketball, nor do any of their other young players. Nor do all star centers who are overcoming back surgeries.

You're terrible at arguing your side (probably because it's not a very good side to argue for). First off, is Ellis not capable of improving either then? Is Parsons just too darn old? Guess only HOUSTON young players have this magical capability of improving with age but Dallas is hexed to do so.

I guess nor do centers who are overcoming New York Knicks withdrawals either.

By the way back surgeries don't make a center better they usually are never the same again. Much like Dwight, but then again he's probably too busy trying to help D on whoever just blew by Harden, so we'll never know.

Ellis is 29 and Parsons is 26... Ellis is playing dead on to his career averages and Parsons is playing worse, Parsons could get better but at 26 with that much experience we are seeing what he will end up being he may get a bit better but he will never be a yearly 20 point per game guy.

harden turned 25 2 months ago and is still getting better.

Terrence Jones at 22 is an athletic freak and nightly double double and improved steadily throughout last year and was showing a jump before he got hurt.

Isiah Cannon at 23 is proving he can score efficiently while not being a liability defensively and again is just getting better and better.

Beverly is 26 but has a little over half a season as a starter and was also steadily improving on offense.

How do you figure I can't argue my side when you through out random irrelevant names and expect it to stick...

ELLIS WAS A SUBSTANTIALLY BETTER PLAYER LAST SEASON THAN HE EVER WAS YEARS PRIOR. That's the definition of improvement.

Parsons is 26, he is capable and most likely going to improve also.

if were gonna list off guys like Jones and Cannon, Wright has improved every year and isn't very old now is he.

Point is to your original nonsensical post is that Houston's oh so youthful set of players improving doesn't make them automatically shoot from losing in the first round to WCF/finals contenders all of a sudden in comparison to Dallas not doing that either or whomever else we were talking about. Especially with Harden's lack of playoff ability.

What the hell are you going on about now?

Wright is 27 in his 8th year..... he has gone up like a point in a half per game over the past 3 seasons ( assuming he continues at the same pace this year) he might hit 20 ppg by the time he is 34.

Houston has legitimate players who are getting better with long term growth, not guys in their mid to late 20's who are hoping they will play well for a bit. Let me break it down, if you have the same group of guys but a portion of the team are young upcoming players scoring more, grabbing more rebounds, and adding to your bench depth IT MAKES YOU A BETTER TEAM.

Do you seriously not understand the concept of prospects. You go on and on about the team not being different yet you ignore the players who are becoming better players THAT CHANGES YOUR TEAM.

Not to mention Ellis shot almost identically in 2009 and 2010 while putting up 25 ppg
