Looks like duncan and ginobli might sit tonight for rest.

Idk what to think. I wouldn't ever question pops decisions, but it is kind of lame to do this in a matchup against a playoff rival.

Meh, I don't think it's lame at all. I think it's him knowing his team/players and ensuring their long term health and valuing that over a regular season game. I could see why as fans it's disappointing though for sure. You always want to see marquis games played at as close to 100% by both teams, it just doesn't work that way always. Hopefully, regardless of who plays, it's an entertaining game

And fwiw, I think he said they might play just cause they took an extra day off last week. Wouldn't be surprised if they suit up, but just play limited minutes.

aw damn. When I saw this game on the schedule I was looking forward to it. Then I noticed SA was playing last night, I was like ****, they're just gonna rest those old geezers against us tonight that means. Not gonna watch if they don't play their starters :(

Anyone have an official word? I'm still kinda hoping they might play them...

Lame isn't the right word. Disappointing is. It's smart coaching to rest his older players and he knows in a 7 game series he can win on the road or game 7 if needed. It's disappointing because as fans we want every game we watch to be exciting and epic. Him resting his best almost guarantees wee won't see that.

You deserve tonights loss. I hope they continue to mount while you guys search for pristine health.

Totally agree from a fans perspective. But we have seen some exciting games even with reserves playing. I know it's not the same but could be entertaining at the very least

No official word, but some quotes from last night indicated they could play (TD/Manu/etc....)

"Jeff McDonald @JMcDonald_SAEN 19h 19 hours ago
Pop seemed to indicate his old guys might be available tomorrow at GS, saying they've already sat out a game in past week."

Probably won't have anything official till an hour before game time

Pop seems like he either doesn't know or this will be a real game time decision:

"Jeff McDonald @JMcDonald_SAEN
Pop made rare appearance on the court earlier to watch Duncan warm up. Clearly a decision to be made."

"Jeff McDonald

Anybody out for rest reasons tonight, Pop? "Not that I know of." Sounds game-time decision-ish to me."

There would be no Belinelli or Patty Mills. Both of whom I think were important factors in that game. And maybe even Splitter who is also out now that I think of it.

Dallas was down by as much as 22 and at one point in the first quarter it was 22-4

Now they are up by 10 with 1:53 to go.

Rick is the second best active coach and has been for some time now

Igoudala is overrated and overpaid. His offense is garbage and his defense is the only thing that's not worthless. But today, even his defense is off so overall he's just a liability out there.

What u think tho dubs fans? Absolutely destroyed on the boards and turnovers, still right there til late 4th. Also a pretty clear bias in the calls, but still hung around.

Need to clean some things up, but if we can do that I think the potential is pretty high

he scored but I feel like they weren't getting any stops either. I mean Kerr has done a fine Job so it'll take him some time to figure out his late game rotations. I just thought it was odd not to see him out there

The damn Spurs just have our number. We must exercise those demons. Kinda reminds me of when we had the Mavs number and know matter who played I knew we'd beat them. Tho they were the better team and in this case were not better than the Spurs. But a loss at home to a team on a back to back is bad. We have too much talent to let that happen. And when is Lee coming back cause he is needed.

Watching the Warriors game, I actually think they have decent ball movement and their defense is fine, SAS just hit every shot.

However, the Warriors turn the ball over way too much. Its comical.

I think the turnovers and 2nd chance points were a big factor, as well as late game execution. SA didn't shoot the ball well at all in the first half. they picked it up in the 2nd half. & GS still shot a higher % for the game

They were. I mean we gave you guys 20 extra possessions, that's tough to beat. Plus, the Spurs had their best game of the year. I guess it was a matter of time before they finally started to hit their 3's. They came in off a 2 for 19 in LA from 3 the night before and worst in the league overall. Progression to the mean happened against GSW on that one.

nastynice
11-12-2014, 12:22 PM
two things we learned from last night.

1) Warriors still got a ways to go to be real top tier contenders. I mean, we're contenders by default, cuz there's like 10 teams in the west that are reasonable contenders. But to go from reasonable contender to front runner contender, LOONG way to go.

2) Spurs are still the Spurs. They still have the ability to play flawless fundamental basketball and dictate the pace of the game (IN golden state, too), and they are clearly a league above the warriors right now.

Hoping the coaching staff help bring some of that fundamental soundness to us, way too much slopiness last niight.

Spurs just match up very well with the Warriors.

I wasn't able to watch the game, but I did listen. The Warriors strength is obviously Curry and Thompson. Danny Green and Leonard have shown that they can slow them both down.

Spurs have to much depth, which is a good problem to have. What's going to happen when Mills, Splitter, and Bellinelli come back?

Lee is currently able to run, but his earliest return will be in a week. The Warriors don't need to risk him this early in the season, he will be vital if you want to make the Western Conference Finals. I've had hamstring injuries and you definitely do not want to come back too soon and especially considering Lee's injury history and that this was the second time he tweaked his hamstring.
