FlashBolt
11-08-2014, 12:23 AM
IMO, this is how Cleveland will win. James needs to be contempt with being a 20/10/10 sort of player with legendary defense rather than someone who has to take it over. Cleveland's 2-4th options are better than the 2-4th options he had at Miami. Irving can get his shot. Love can dominate. Waiters can find his own shot (needs to work on his effectiveness, though.) But a more passive James is exactly what this team needs. He's playing a more Magic Johnson like game and his defense has looked DPOY worthy thus far. Granted, this is one short example of a season but it's not about Love or Irving adjusting. It's about James understanding his new role on this team. He has more help than ever. Him carrying the Heat isn't going to be the same under this team.

:sigh: I'm so disappointed that Dwight is out tonight. It was going to be hard enough beating this Warriors team without Bev and Jones, but missing Dwight will make it freakishly difficult. Still, I'm pleased with they've played in this first quarter. They're getting good looks offensively. If they start making them, they could feasibly give this Golden State team a run for their money.

Were playing a quasi small ball lineup except we have three sg's all at 6'5 playing at the same time and Melo at the 4. It leads to better ball movement since our bigs are a bit clumsy in that regard.

Our D still has big holes but its baby steps I guess

mightybosstone

Yeah, Lee is not remotely the equivalent of the Rockets missing Dwight Howard, who is their defensive anchor AND their offensive No. 2. And then you throw in missing Beverley and Jones, and it's pretty clear who the more banged up team is today. If Houston pulls this out, Golden State should feel pretty bad about that loss.

Horrible play on both ends of the floor by the Rockets in that quarter. I can't blame them too much since they're playing without Dwight, but they're just jacking up 3s on offense with hardly any penetration at all. And they're not getting back nearly quickly enough in transition.

Not all first time head coaches start slow, Kidds slow start hurt nets in long run. I don't get why this system is being forced apon a team that doesn't fit it. Knicks and the Triangle are a match that doesn't match. Triangle doesn't belong in NBA anymore.
So not 1 team should run the triangle?

lol, please

What's great about this Dubs win is that Klay was nonexistent for much of the game and lee wasn't available. I look forward to the next game. :)

I wouldn't call anything great about the warriors win. They struggled a lot for a lot of the game and the Rockets only had TWO STARTERS even playing tonight.

I get the whole two starter thing, but at the same time that seems to have lead to the dubs playing down to the competition. First half the warriors were straight up sleep walking. Third quarter kinda showed what this team is capable of when firing on all cylinders. Fourth quarter, I'll give the rockets credit, they made a push.

I wouldnt even say they played down to the opponent, they Warriors just arent that good on the road so far. If Houston's 3 would have been dropping it would have been curtains. Hell the game was still within what 5 or 6 up until the last few minutes?

Steph's 3 was super wet last night (as usual) and James couldnt get much to drop. I'd say both teams played pretty good defense.

Seemed evenly matched most of the game, hopefully next time both squads are at full strength.

same **** as last year. Team acting like we coming off a 3peat or something, turn it on whenever they feel like. Did the same **** with the lakers. I know in the playoffs we'll be on 48 min, but given how stacked the west is, its not a good look during the reg season either.

On the plus side, we held a team that hadn't scored less than 98 to 87 on 34.9% from the field. Klay was a wreck last night - came in 93% from the line and couldn't even hit those - but the D held it down. The Warriors D is flat out stifling and Curry is playing like an MVP. Wish both teams were at full health. Next time.

I could have played good defense in that game. Without Dwight or Jones they have no post players their C was less than a nobody. They literally just had 4 on the perimeter and chucked 3's.

Are you on ****ing crack. Howard alone >>> Lee. If you actually think David Lee is as good as Dwight Howard just delete your account now.

Again they were also missing their starting PG and 2nd best defender in Beverly and their starting PF, 3rd scoring option, 2nd best post/help defender, and 2nd best rebounder in Jones.

Yeah I smoked some with you mom last night.Lee is a double double machine an all star. Of course description d12 is better dummy. But with Lee coming iff our bench who on your bench can contain him. Lee of our bench makes this a 20 point blow out. Im sorry it was to complex for you to comprehend. By the way I root fot the rockets as well. And for you to jump to an insult after a statment makes me question your up bringing.

So when the warriors beat a top tier team without 3 starters and it was a toss up game up until the last 6 minutes, and then win by 11, it's no big deal or business as usual. But when the Rockets beat a top tier team with without 2 starters and 2 bench guys and they are up 16 at half and win by 25ish they get criticized for "letting the other team hang around". Glad to see there's no bias against the rockets from the general PSD public.

You're right, if Lee was playing last night and we still didn't have dwight, jones, or beverly it probably would have been a blow out. But to argue that 1 guy who isn't even a starter anymore is an equal impact to 3 starts (including the teams 2 best defenders) is utterly ridiculous. If we had our normal big man depth either jones or dwight would have been on Lee the entire night.

I don't really know what ur talking about, but if people are criticizing the rockets for not "blowing out" lesser teams, then I disagree with them. In professional sports, a blowout should never be expected. If a team is in control of a game, that's enough, really not much more you can ask for. Be it in control w/ a 10 point lead, or in control with a 20 point lead, makes no difference to me.

In the game thread Thursday with Houston VS SA there were a couple of people criticizing the Rockets for not "extending the lead early" against SA considering how many people they had out, despite Houston being up 16 at half.

Klay and Lee both missing. That's a lot of points to try to make up. Barnes still isn't consistent and while Green is improving he isn't reliable yet and can't create for himself like Lee.
