Okay gentlemen, we have a 4-4 tie for the No. 40 player of all time between Steve Nash and Jason Kidd. I'm giving everyone 24 hours to vote again and whoever wins this time will be the No. 40 player on the list. In the event we end up with another tie, I'm giving it to the player who earned the most votes in the thread for player No. 39. Nash earned 3 votes to Kidd's 1, so Nash would win.

Everyone get your votes in! This should be interesting...

Kidd for me.

Nash is the much better shooter, but Kidd is the slightly better passer, but much better defender and rebounder.

Nash for me. 2 MVPs for being the most gifted in running any offensive teams. Man, the Suns were amazing to watch during his tenure there. (and it seems to be the case nowadays too - running and gunning)

but just because of that. I would pick Kidd if Nash didn't win any MVPs.

Saying that Nash is the better shooter but Kidd is the better passer is a huge, huge misrepresentation of their games. Nash was so far and away superior in his prime to Kidd offensively that they don't belong in the same stratosphere in terms of impact on that end of the floor. Kidd was certainly the better defender and rebounder, but Nash was a ridiculously efficient offensive player in his prime, while Kidd was terribly inefficient.

It's Nash for me, and I honestly don't think it's as close as most do.

Wow. I love how we get more votes for a tiebreaker in 24 hours than we do for most normal polls in 48 hours.
