Season starts in 26 days and i find my self trying to find out what to do. So lets have some fun with this. What is your favorite teams all time 12 man roster. You can only use that played for your team in the history of the nba. Just one rule, dont use players that didnt play their primes on your team. Example: Grant Hill in Orlando or T-Mac in New York or Detroit.

As a kid, one of the first Warriors games I saw (and a big reason I became a fan of the team) was a re-run of an old game of Run TMC. That crossover man... if I remember right it was against Denver, they scored something crazy like 130 points and Hardaway was on fire. Loved watching him distribute the ball as well.

Old games of Hardaway got me interested in the Warriors. Mullin made me a fan... then he got traded. Then before I know it I'm watching guys like Blaylock, Richardson and Arenas. I wish I could swap the '87 through '95 that I missed for the '96 through '04 that I got. 8 years for 8 years, that would be a fair trade right? Or just that one glorious Run TMC year, that would do me fine.

...so... am I not allowed a homer vote?

SF Clyde Drexler / Rudy Tomjanovich
PF Charles Barkley / Elvin Hayes / Ralph Sampson
C Hakeem Olajuwon / Moses Malone / Yao Ming

I cheated a bit at the wing spots, but I wanted McGrady and Drexler both in the starting lineup as they were clearly the best wings on the roster. The front court is obviously way more stacked than the roster at the 1-3, but Houston is as blessed as any franchise in NBA history outside of the Lakers when it comes to having great big men. That second PG position was hard to fill. Francis was probably the best player, but Smith accomplished the most. Cassell could have made a pretty solid case there as well. It may be a tad early to put Harden on any All-Time Rockets lists, but they haven't exactly been blessed with great wing players in their history and the guy just made an All-NBA 1st team selection and was 5th in MVP voting. That warrants him being on this roster.

To me, Shaq is not on the team because he was not here long enough. His time here lasted only 3 1/2 years (where he was injured through a good chunk of that time as he only played 205 games out of a possible 293 (70%) in that time span) and only his first 2 years were really only good. He also left on bad terms and even when he was good in his short time here, he was not playing at legendary levels in his short time like Lebron did.

I would take the Heat's all time team over most.

I hear you on him leaving on bad terms, but he was still a DOMINATE force his first two years in Miami. He probably should have won his second MVP in '05 too.

He's definitely on the roster, but behind Zo of course

There isn't one, but the premise of the thread isn't "favorite all-time players" thread. It's your "favorite team's all-time roster" thread. Hell, I like guys like Shane Battier, Robert Horry and Luis Scola a hell of a lot more than I liked some of the guys I put at SF and PF. That doesn't mean they're good enough to make the roster or start over some of those guys.

2001 Lakers.

back when elite, disciplined, well coached teams didn't need a third star to surpass post-season win percentage records. that's the strongest single season 1-2 punch in NBA history, with brilliant role players, and a brilliant coach. my favorite all time squad.

U clearly didnt read the thread. That team would get stomped on considering where those players were at their careers.

It's not THAT far off.

Mine would be.

PG: Lowry, our best PG we ever had in his actual prime.

SG: Vince Carter....His pre injury Toronto days was basically a human highlight reel.

SF: T-mac/......At this point in his career he's the 2nd weakest of the bunch probably, his last year in Toronto showed his potential pre injury.

PF: Chris Bosh.....An excellent PF in his Toronto Days.

C: Antonio Davis....yeah Center is the weakest spot, JV has a good chance of overtaking this spot should he develop nicely.

Lowry, Vince, T-Mac and Bosh in their Toronto days (Lowry current and T-mac last in his last year) would destroy the league with it's offensive firepower and athleticism. Derozan would be instant offense off the bench as a 6th option.

Obviously there are MUCH better potential teams out there as the Raptors never had many great great players at one time.

This team, imo in their Toronto days would win a championship together if they were in the NBA right now, but would fall way short to other teams best teams.
