What do you think of the new ownership so far? They drafted two shooting guards in the last two drafts and let Isaiah Thomas go for ramon sessions. I love that the management are involving fans in their decisions, and I dont think they're clueless... so far though they leave me scratching my head. I don't see the kings making the play offs. I think they'll have to blow it up soon, and trade cousins. What do you think?

They let Thomas go for Collison not Sessions, but yeah they made the Raptors not suck so I like them. Also let Thomas go so that was cool too.

Also who the hell cares about the Kings since like 04?

The way they handled the Isaiah Thomas situation will be hanging over them for awhile. By all accounts the heart and soul of that team, borderline all-star, and they all but run him outta town on a cheap contract getting nothing in return. Definitely one of the weirder stories this offseason.

Maybe they're still aiming for rondo?

I think they still want Rondo as well.

that kid Nik Stauskas is going to be a stud. Also I think playing on team usa was really good for both Cousins, Gay and their chemistry ...

if the kings can get rondo with out giving up Stauskas, Gay, Cousins they will be pretty dam good.

not in the west. and if they are it will hurt them, cuz they wont get a good lottery pick like they always do. Being mediocre is the worst position you can be in, at least in the NBA. It's good to either be really good or really bad, not anywhere in between.

I like the kings.
Best Offensive center in the leauge
Very good second option in Rudy Gay who is also a very capable two way player and at this point in his career is underatted
Nik stauskas = Watch out. He is going to open up the floor so much more for Boogie and Gay to operate. I am confident he shoots 40% from 3 .. THIS SEASON

If they can buy into a defensive system ubder Malone, acquire an athletic defensive big to go next to Boogie, then the Kings could be a legitimate contender, let alone a playoff team

Thomas is talented and a hard worker, but his size made him a liability on defense. I think Sessions is actually a good replacement.

As for shooting guards, if they grabbed one and he didn't work out, it doesn't hurt to try again.

I'm not sure that DMC is the guy of leader you want in the locker room, but I think that they are doing the best with what they have.

They'll have to do all that and acquire Rondo to become legitimate contenders.

Actually I think Bledsoe would be a nice fit as well.

Isaiah was far from an all star, he negatively affected teammates with his scoring mentality. We were last in assists and perimeter defense and he was a big part of that

Wouldn't be shocked if the old rumors creep back into play at the trade deadline. Which Kings yet again chase after friends pairing of Josh Smith and Rondo and Rudy Gay. While still having Cousins.

Cap wise there's zero chance this could happen unless Rondo and Gay take huge pay cuts. There best chance is 3 of those 4.

Kings will be at best 10th in the west but i would honestly see it as a GREAT season if they can go .500 which will be a 14 game improvement! I hope that we can be a better defensive team, which is why we brought in collison, sessions, and hollins. None of those players are outstanding in any one area but good or above average in multiple areas.

I like to think that the FO isn't really going out and getting big name players or even the most talented players but trying to get players that fit more into Malones system. Kinda like the how the Spurs run their organization. Thats what i hope at least!!!

I'm talking trade at this years trade deadline mid season. Yeah bad contracts of JT, Landry, Williams and others have to be sent out. I'm sure Kings would throw a unprotected first to Celtics for Rondo and them salary fillers. Then depends what Pistons want for Smith? Do they just wanna dump Smith to keep Monroe happy? Seems like Monroe wasn't happy with last years new additions of Smith and Jennings.

Carl Landry $6,500,000 $6,500,000 $6,500,000
Derrick Williams $6,331,404 $8,262,482
Jason Thompson $6,037,500 $6,431,250 $6,825,000
Darren Collison $4,797,664 $5,013,559 $5,229,454
Alonzo Gee $3,000,000
Unprotected first

Josh Smith $13,500,000 $13,500,000 $13,500,000

Rajon Rondo $12,909,090

Not impossible but not easy. Few other pieces have to be tossed in. All comes down to how bad the Kings want them or not. But they would then have a weak bench if they got this to happen.

This up coming season Gay/Smith/Cousins/Rondo account for 60million in cap space. That's 4 players taking around 90% of the cap space. I see no way they can pull this off while fielding any kind of depth if it could be done at all.

I posted this trade a few weeks ago. http://forums.prosportsdaily.com/showthread.php?874692-4-team-trade-LAL-BOS-SAC-DET
