Rick Barry, a legitimate #1 that carried teams on his back to the playoffs on multiple occasions and even a title. He had his own issues, but he belongs in this area of players so he's got my vote

Have to go with Clyde Drexler here. He was also a legitimate number one until he played with Hakeem Olajuwon. He took the Blazers to the limit against the Bulls in 1991-92 and had to go against Shaquille O'Neal and peak Anfernee Hardaway in his title run with Olajuwon.

Mchale, Isiah, Clyde Drexler, or Willis. Very hard choice here.

There were very few that played as well as Isiah in his prime.
Same with Drexler Both of these guys should've gone in the teens. This thread is a running joke.

Why no Barry?

I'm not against Rick Barry but because of where he played I just did not see him play enough. As a kid I actually liked Rick Barry but I mostly knew him for his mid 70's finals and underhand free throw shooting. That is probably not fair to Rick since Clyde/Willis were around the same time frame (earlier for Willis) but they were NY so I saw/heard more of them.

I'm going to go Mchale, Isiah, Drexler.

I'm leaving Willis out because he played when I was a little kid. I do not feel it would be fair for me to vote for him based on that.

I saw most here have already mentioned that Drexler should be higher, so I'll include who I think Drexler was better than in his prime.

Bryant
Wade
West- pretty easy to make the finals when there are just 4 teams in a conference and you play for by far the
Garnett- never got to the finals and Drexler led his to 2 Finals in the same West.
Havlicek
Baylor
Pettit
Frazier
Barry
James- people will calm down about james in a couple of years when his stat line looks more like 22/6/5. It's just young people caught up in the moment that hype him.

LOL at kobe and wade. You can make an argument for KG but kg was a beast in his prime the only way drexler couldve been better than KG was if he won at least 1 championship when he was in portland which didnt happen so i'll give KG the nod here
