Boozer heard the news from his agent.

"I was ecstatic and I was jumping up and down," Boozer said. "I went back out there and got two more hours in."

Boozer is penciled in as the Lakers' starting small forward, although he has played power forward throughout his 12-year NBA career.

He would be the worst SF in the league.

So because some LA Times pencil pusher said this (not anyone on the Lakers, nor Boozer, nor his agent) you run with it, and try and turn the Boozer quote into something it's not?

Good job. Maybe you shouldn't be so worried about all the Lakers moves this summer and worry about your own team.

Just this writer said it. And it's complete ********. There are like two lines in the article about that and any source is showed. Sorry, but we aren't so desperate to play Boozer at sf;this writer is like Lakers's posters who want to put Nick Young at Sf,just for his size I think.
You clearly didn't read the article well. You have mentioned two lines of this crap and they are realated to two different themes, plus the agent never told to him that he will play at sf.

unless the lakers are trying to lose games boozer won't play sf. he couldn't guard anyone and his lack of an outside shot would kill the offense.

@diehareha 2ms

It was recently announced that Carlos boozer will start at small forward for the Lakers, my sources are now telling me that Robert Sacre will get the starting nod at point guard. "He is like a young magic Johnson with the ball" Kobe informed my sources.

This and sadly the OP seems overly consumed with all things Lakers , when at this time as currently constructed they would be fortunate to be any kind of a playoff team although (as a fan ) i will always remain hopeful .

Lol, Randle should play the 3

king4day
07-26-2014, 12:25 PM
This news will changed the minute Scott is hired. Have Randle start the season off the bench and if LAL fails after a couple months, just put him in the starting lineup.

As long as Randle starts at PF im good. IDGAF about the rest of the lineup. Lin can be the Center for all I care. As long as Randle is th PF.

Jeez, shoot the messenger. I didn't even criticize, I just put the confused emote because it seemed a bit random is all. I don't make only Lakers threads, I make threads about any team/news I see that the forum doesn't have. My last two threads were about OKC and Hou before this one.

This pretty much is my feeling as well. I mean, it is the coaches who decide the starting lineup on a game to game basis.

DODGERS&LAKERS

Jeeeezus, 3 pages due to a misquote. Obviously he meant power forward. But even then he is being presumptuous. There is no coach to pencil anyone in!!!!!! Boozer maybe starting center, our backup power forward/center. Nobody knows. But one thing we do know is that nobody thinks he will be a small forward. Close this crap

Kobe
Boozer
Randle
Hill

Yea... probably an 8th seed in the west at best.... injury prone lineup

This is the worst case scenario for the Lakers, they are a joke of a franchise now

Bruno
07-26-2014, 02:41 PM
no way. he might start at PF, and they might move Randle to SF if they think he's enough of a tweener to get it done.

floor spacing with randle at 3 is going to be a major problem. maybe that gets minutes but I don't think it starts. Boozer will probably get the nod and Randle will be 6th man.

i wish they just develop randle and give him 30 a night, starting or not.

SILVER SEAVER
07-26-2014, 02:42 PM
The Lakers went after Boozer the same way Chicago did in 2010......when there was nothing left and they got turned down by the best you settle for the rest. The major difference is the Bulls ended up paying 71.75 million for four years of lackluster effort and the Lakers just have to pay 3.25 in a contract year so they get a more inspired Boozer than what the Bulls got. But sticking him at SF is just a train wreck waiting to happen.

i really think Boozer will start. which is a total waste unless the team makes post season. starter or not Randle should get 30 a night.

Nicholson was at around 95% of the games during the 05-07 period...so if he sat through that ****, he will continue to come. Unless he's got some models and cocaine calling his name. In which case he will give his tickets to tom petty.

It's something about LA......Boozer went from being more of a statue than the Jordan one outside the United Center to Scottie Pippen when he goes to the Lakers. It will certainly be entertaining watching Boozer play matador defense with slick SF's blowing by him on a repeated basis.

I feel this will be the line-up

boozer

and after a couple of months randle will take over the starting pf spot

Why don't they let whatever coach they end up getting decide that?

FAWK!!!

They might as well play him at PG while they're at it.

He'd make a better center than a small forward. If they are keeping Nick Young, they might as well put Kobe at SF like the Wiz did with MJ.

LOL you can't blame the Lakers. I heard both Hill and Davis were assured started roles when they were signed so Boozer can't start at PF or C cause of that.

And I guess they feel weird about a vet like Booze coming off the bench?

WTF?! Can't be seriously thinking of doing this. Worse than Josh Smith at PF...worse shooter, lesser athlete, it would just be embarrassing.

Only +ve is to put him in the post almost every trip down against opposing SF's...which still wouldn't work against at least half a dozen stronger SF's in the league today
