Dude, you really need to quit posting threads. It's getting out of hand. You just posted a thread about a third tier free agent getting interest from a team to be a backup point guard. It's not remotely thread worthy. And you totally missed a key point, which is that Dallas already added Devin Harris for four years, $16 million. So any interest in Nelson would likely be primarily as a backup and not a starter.

Unless Nelson actually signs with Dallas, this does not deserve its own thread in the slightest.

They would actually prefer Harris to come off the bench.

Then why pay him nearly twice what you're going to pay Nelson to start? And why would Nelson devalue himself like that when he just watched Harris get paid far more to be his backup? That doesn't make a ton of sense.

Nelson would do it for a chance to play (and start) for a contender. Harris has been a team player since coming back to Dallas last year. He opted not to take a 3 year $9 mil deal last year from the Mavs so that they could sign Ellis. He agreed not to sign the deal after he found out he needed surgery (the Mavs still had the deal on the table in spite of the injury). He then took a 1 year deal with the hope that the Mavs would reward him this year with a long term deal (which they did).

For what its worth though I don't think the Mavs make an offer to Jameer. Its more likely that they hold on to their exception until the trade deadline and wait for a vet to be bought out. They could then also trade Brandon Wright's and Crowder's expiring deals to a team looking to dump a player. So its possible they could add two players they like more at the trade deadline instead of signing Jameer now. That's just my opinion though.

Not really the biggest fan of Felton Harris or Nelson at this point but that team is filling out nicely.

You do realize sometimes teams overpay for players right? That contracts are not an exact science? But yeah, click on threads and then complain about their existence. That makes sense.

The Mavs are a great organization, but they seriously need to fire whoever handles their Basketball operations. They keep trying to acquire washed up players in hopes to get them rejuvenated enough to have their team compete at a level that is just seriously overachieving every single year, however, I do like that they acquired Tyson Chandler back...NOT!

Say what? They have been one of the most successful organizations out there

It won them a title three years ago, so I would say what they've done has worked.

i like this for Dallas. Nelson can add some experience and should be able to be a floor general rather off the bench or as a starter.

Isn't that what the Heat did the past 3 years?

Chandler is only signed for 1 year and I cant see them giving Nelson a long contract.

Imagine how ironic it would be to see a Mavs-Cavs finals, only to see Dirk win again

They are trying to contend in Dirk's last few years. Nothing wrong with that...

Love this pickup for Dallas. Had to get this done, and looks like they will.

The entire west coast, besides maybe a few teams, are all run and gun. Gonna be a lot of high scoring games over there.

Wow you are not pleasant after the Rockets offseason are you?

PSD has been LITTERED with speculative threads all summer. Why wouldn't a thread be made for Nelson and the Mavs? He's a decent player and the Mavs are a good team.

It's significant and certainly thread worthy.

Honestly? Relax.
