No. Since he was overseas, Bulls had to buy him out. Just another reason why talented international prospects get picked later in the draft.

rookie scale only applies if you come over right away(within the first 3 years from being drafted),he's past that period

He's a very good player who can contribute right away. Adjusting to nba life should be a bit easier with Gasol there

I cant say I even recall hearing about the guy. Then again I'm no Bulls fan, nor do I follow Euro "Basketball", so no need to fret.

Is Nikola Mirotic's game comparable to a current NBA player(s)? If so who?

Ryan Anderson, Detlef Schrempf, and Antawn Jamison are some names that come to my mind.

Let's put it this way, the kid has enough talent to at least be a borderline allstar. Bulls reportedly denied the offer of a late top 10 pick in this year's draft from some mystery team, and many analysts had him as the fourth best player on their boards after Parker/Wiggins/Embiid.

Great price for the Bulls! He was talking about signing for 7-10 million earlier. The + portion is probably the amount that the Bulls can contribute to his buy out.

mmm he is quite a Diva.
Unless bulls trade Taj for an Sg or Sf / wich they should definetly consider he could end up moaning about minutes and creating some fuss.

Excited to see him play, but with him and Pau I'm finding a hard time figuring out the minute distribution.

2013-14 MPG

J. Noah 35.7
T. Gibson 28.7
C. Boozer 28.2
N. Mohammed 7.0

Obviously Noah's won't change, he's way too good and important to their success. After that how do you balance that out?

PF - Pau 13 MPG, Gibson 20 MPG, Mirotic 15 MPG

C - Noah 35 MPG, Pau 13 MPG

Uhh... I don't know. Seems a bit crowded unless there's a move of Gibson in the pipeline. Although I guess big man depth is always a good problem to have.

Lakers should have gotten him in a S&T for Pau. Useless GM...

I hope that isn't true.

Yeah, you think Mirotic can play SF? I don't know, would be interesting at the least. That minute management seems like something Pop would do, except Pau would be lower and Taj/Miro a bit higher probably.

Thibs is the anti-Pop in minute management though. I can't see Noah losing any minutes, he's way too good and sans Rose their best player. I don't know what they are going to do, Thibs is going to have to get creative though.
