ESPN has learned that Pierce will sign a two-year deal with the Wizards at the mid-level exception with a player option entering Year 2

He was thee Nets best player in the playoffs if I'm not mistaken. He was also playing at PF for most of the year last year, he's still got some left in him.

Bummer. I was hoping he'd go to Chicago and mentor McBuckets while being the starter at the 3. That said, Washington is shaping up to being a very interesting team next season.

Dallas is probably really, really hoping that Houston doesn't match Parsons' offer sheet now. Only Deng and Stephenson are left at SF at this point and I'd bet that Deng is more than likely headed to Miami.

Yes! I love the truth. I am a Celtics and Wizards fan, (yeah Celtics psd fans I know you rarely see me on the forums, but the reason why you rarely see me on the forums is because I have always watched wizards games being in DC. When the Celtics were on I have never missed a game. Now that i live in New England, i can watch them every night. I love the Sox and Pats. I just have a split love In the NBA.) while my dad is a big C's fan. Paul Pierce is his all time favorite Celtic.

If Garnett leaves now, Brooklyn's screwed. Team dependent on injury prone brook/deron and talented but obscenly overpaid joe Johnson. Unless these 3 have amazing years or the international talent pans out, good luck. Even worse when you consider draft pick shortage.

Pierce made an incredibly bad decision. Even if Clippers could only offer minimum.... Pierce should of taken the 4 million dollar paycut and went out with a chance at a ring the last two years of his career. Wizards have a nice squad for sure but no way they get to the finals with that young team any time soon and with the shake up of the east. I have them as a 4 seed at best probably.

No way if the Pacers lose Stephenson are they finishing ahead of Chicago......NO WAY! George is not elite, Hibbert is a head case and their guard play is anemic. Pacers year was this year and they couldn't even beat a Miami team with a broken down Wade, a fatigued LeBron, a non-existent Bosh and a group of vets who were going through the motions. Indiana choked their opportunity away. It makes what Miami did over the last four years more impressive because Indiana basically snuck up on people the previous seasons but when they became the favorites to overtake Miami they crumbled under the pressure. So as I said Miami's accomplishments with the pressure they were under to succeed was most impressive.

That Russian guy lost over 100 mil last season he's not spending like that again.

His ego will drive him to be defiant and spend recklessly again. His thought process is throw lots of money, get big names and we will win. It's never worked before and it won't work now. For as much as I gripe about Jerry Reinsdorf being cheap at times at least he would never do what Mother Russia did last season.

I know man. Some of us know what our PG situation is like and can't throw stones. Rose has to prove a lot this season and if he gets injured again Bulls fans will be done with him. He's only played 49 games over the last three regular seasons. That's Greg Oden-ish.

What else do you have?

Pacers and a bunch of head cases?
BronBron and a bunch of kids?

Doesn't matter anyhow. Spurs are repeating...

Maybe Rose has a miraculous unprecedented comeback and the Bulls make it to the Finals? Probably not.

Unexpected. And I also don't know if it is the right or wrong decision. Pierce can bring experience and mental toughness, but he's 36.They need at least to split sf minutes with Porter or he will be gassed as a starter after an entire season.

You could make the argument though that in the east, it probably is easier to get to the finals. Both LAC & the Wizards lost in 6th in the 2nd round. Obviously it's not to say the Wiz are an equal team to the Clips, but they are in the easier conference with a nice team.

Just strange as a C's fan watching Paul Pierce play for any other team not just the wizards now but even the Nets. Nba loyalty will probably become a rare find In the next decade plus. It is a business but has become more business recently than in the past. Maybe it's the heavy contracts? If Pierce and KG had smaller contracts would C's have kept them? Which comes to question lately. How often is it the franchise being business versus the player being business?

You seem upset.

Please back up how Pierce is a 'degenerate gambler'.

He competes in the world series of poker and spends some time in vegas. He also invests his money and has given more money to charity than I'll ever earn in my life.

It seems like you're just a Laker fan that will take any chance he gets to poke at Pierce.

Pierce has already taken over as leader. In pick-up games, he's calling out shots of what players need to do better. He has told Wall and Beal to get to FT line more. He has also taken them under his wing.

He was probably a really happy before D-will got injured before training camp and before Lopez immediately went down. I really thought the Nets were gonna do so much more damage than they did last year
