View Full Version : Who are the most creditable NBA sources?

In light of the hectic NBA rumors and buzz, there are a ton of sources that have left me with a head-scratcher. I don't really pay much attention to anyone besides Stephen A. and Woj, so I was just wondering if there are any more reputable sources out there so fellow PSD members are more aware of them.

Broussard is actually really in-tuned with Rich Paul so as a Cavs fan and following him for quite some time in regards to Lebron I take him as credible on that topic. Not much else though lol.

Woj for all NBA news is probably the best. Gets multiple sources and makes sure they are all saying the same things to verify his info before just putting out 140 characters like some others. Spears and Stein are starting to grow on me too through the entire FA process especially Spears.

Stephen A is awful. So are most local beat writers too no matter what city. Sam Amick is somewhat ok but Sam Amico is awful too.

If you want the worst though, BRIAN FATBOY WINDHORST is your guy.

I don't trust any of them. Woj isn't always right unless the information has basically become public knowledge. He speculates an awful lot...see the whole of the last weeks posts regarding Melo & Bron

This guy basically said Kobe was having a presser to retire the other day, and it was to announce his preference for a coaching hire.

I immediately unfollower.

I don't follow any particular individual reporter, but if it's not on rotoworld I don't really believe it.

Carl..... then woj. Woj was tweeting the player that was going to be drafted by which team before adam silver even got to the podium to announce.

Woj, Windhorst is a guy I trust a lot. Especially when it comes to Lebron. He's from Cleveland and has been following Lebron since he was like 12.
For Bulls fans its Nick Friedell.

Speculation is not the same as reporting unverified rumors as truth. Speculation is basically an opinion which fits known facts. No one implies that it comes from an inside source or that it is actually happening.

Woj and Amick are good.

Bucher is a hack.

Broussard is fairly accurate because he usually waits until everyone else has reported something before he reports it. Otherwise he's useless. I loved his report the other night that came out at like 8pm that said LeBron wasn't going to make his decision that night. He literally reported that nothing was going to happen lol.

I think it's pretty safe to say at this point that none of these guys has any credibility with exception of Woj... the rest have put % up and have been slowly walking it back with this talk about the letter Gilbert wrote when Bron first left.

No matter what happens here the real winner is the NBA as a whole. At what other time even while the games are actually being played is the NBA so dominant when it comes to headlines

Woj, Amick, Stein are the three I trust the most.

Broussard actually has been decent re: LeBron, mainly because he's been playing the "be patient/he's not ready to decide yet" thing. But generally he's pretty bad and just speculative.

Windhorst, Aldridge, Shelburne are probably second tier. Beck and Berg are dece.

I know it shouldn't be but a lot of reporters are saying 'sources suggest' or 'this implies that..' , which people are then taking as gospel and it's pretty embarrassing.

Why are they randomly speculating nonsense for it to not be true 24 hours later?!

Basically they know absolutely squat yet still tweet rubbish making it look like they know what they're on about

I think Woj is the best. I don't follow anyone else with a grain of salt. He's the most consistent and as a reporter, they might have some bad/good sources or a change of mind. Why do so many disregard Broussard, though? He seems well respected in the reporter industry.

Guys like Woj and Brousard are not "sources", they are reporters. They have undisclosed sources who feed them information that they report on. So the question of who is the best source, I would say it depends on the topic. About who is the best/most honest reporter, I would say Brian Windhorst or Adrian Wojnarowski.

A reporter is a source - generally speaking. They are interchangeable.
