Toronto has traded John Salmons to Atlanta for Lou Williams and Bebe Nugiera, source tells Yahoo.

I would say Masai knows how to hypnotise people to do as he ask.

Lou Williams = chucker/no ball movement

Looks like we got ourselves a sixth man in Toronto. Uriji does it again. Noguiera is also a decent prospect to develop at the 4/5.

Don't care much for Lou but I'm excited about the Brazilian guy. Like the trade

Lou isn't the same player after that knee injury

bebe who?

Lucas is the name he goes by, also he was the guy that had the big afro last year and his hat couldn't fit his head, he's a good rebounder and shot blocker.

This is my concern to. But even then he can't be worse than what Salmons was. We need scoring any type of scoring of the bench and I'll take Lou over Salmons all day.

Either way Louis is an expiring 5M dollar contract.

Not really sure what this does for Atlanta. Salmons and Williams are both expiring deals and neither are going to do much of anything this upcoming season. Seems like Atlanta just gave away a big man prospect for no reason lol.

his contract is only partially guaranteed, they can waive him and only pay him 1 mill.

Lou williams is a chucker and inefficient. However, John salmons is even more inefficient and useless in the playoffs and during the regular season shooting 31-36% from FG :laugh2:

With that being said, this team definitely favours the raptors considering how they still got an expiring team while getting a 1st round prospect with potential ( big man who rebounds and blocks shots; sucks on defense though) for pretty much nothing.

Goood Deal for Toronto. And now Bruno and Bebe have each other

The only thing that saves this is getting a first rounder from last year. I guess we are going with Derozan and Ross at the 2 and the 3. Cause as I see it right now, Lou would be in the ideal position that Ross could've been in if we shopped around a little bit (Sixth man swingman).

Although, Ujiri will likely just unload this team if Lowry leaves. Wonder how long Lou's stay will be

Could be shopped for picks later on.

I think that one game where his mistakes led to Durant burying the team on a buzzer beater just killed his confidence here.

I liked his effort, but unfortunately, things didn't work out. Kinda like a Mini-Rudy Gay scenario

So Raptors trade Salmons for a chucker with injuries and a 7ft with knee problems in a key free agency.

DemarDerozan
06-29-2014, 10:20 PM
Most wing players do not fully reach there potential until 5-6 years in the league. Demar is getting there. TRoss is still really rough but should improve. Williams has been up and down his whole career. Ujiri will make a splash wouldn't be surprised if he was able to move TRoss and picks in a sign and trade for Parsons.

Does anyone know the plan for the Hawks. This is to get under the cap. Do they have a plan or was it simply to save money?

I think they're trying to make a run at LeBron and Melo... They just saved 7mill with this trade

I read the Hawks have 15 million in cap space now. That's not enough to get Lebron and Melo. And neither would sign there just them. They're gearing up for a run at Luol Deng IMO. He'd be a good fit at SF for them and they need one. If they strike out on him Jeff Green in a salary dump could be an option.

I hope Salmons catches on as a role player off the bench on a contender. Always liked him, he just wasn't what we needed in his last stint in Sacramento. He's a savvy vet who can play solid defense and offense in a bench role though.

Toronto wasnt gonna get any Free Agents anyways, they just want to Retain Lowry.
There's little point in using money in signing someone like Loul deng, The raptors wouldnt be championship contenders with him, they're better off signing and improving their bench while addressing some weaknesses ( perimeter d and shot blocking) and develop their players. They have a better chance signing a FA in '15 or '16 with a lot more cap room.

Needed a wing. Lou is done. Just drafted a guy over 7 ft.

Now we will either throw money at Parsons and see what Houston does before Melo decides or go with Deng.

Plus Nogueira sat most of last year over seas with severe knee tendenitis, not a good sign for someone so young. I'm with u on Parsons or Deng tho

Plus Hawks most likely will waive Salmons. Just needed to get rid of Lou's cap # and did so. Job well done I'd say.

Now shoot for the stars Ferry. If not, go after Lance or Parsons.

If Horford stays healthy and we get a top FA wing, who would want to play the Hawks in the East? We were a top 3 seeded team in the East before Horford went down.

I said he would be their target 4 months ago. Seems likely they are going after him or Hayward.

Salmons only has $1m guaranteed, so they can cut him and save $6m in payroll.

Zero chance they keep Salmons. They traded for his basically non guaranteed deal.
