View Full Version : Will the Lakers make the playoffs next season?

Gawd, I hope so. I can't stand it. It's not normal, you know? Jim Buss is still around, but hey! D'Antoni is gone. Hopefully, they will sign some good players. Kobe should be healthy. I just want to start the rebuild, no more of the crap we saw last season and the season before. Get some defense-minded players, some athletic studs, use that high pick well, a good coach (Rambis? Scott?). No more Browns or D'Antonis. And I hope Gasol finds his game again, but not as a Laker.

Why do you ask before FA even started???

There should be a LOL choice. Not sure what they think they can do to make the playoffs next year. There are too many teams in the West that are good.

Lose 1st round, and that's me being positive. being realistic, we improve but still miss the playoffs

idk if kobe would be healthy tbh

spurs, mavs, rockets, warriors, grizzlies, timberwolves, nuggets, blazers, suns, clippers, pelicans, thunder will all be competing for playoff spots. honestly don't see anyway that the Lakers get in their unless they draft the ROY and Nash and Kobe reverse time.

Damn near the entire roster is expendable. No way they can make the playoffs in the west unless whoever we draft turns out to be a star right away and even then there isn't much talent on this team

06-17-2014, 02:49 PM
impossible to say, we have three players as of today.

but vegas sport book has the Lakers with a 50/1 odds to win the championship (25/1 to win the west) as of yesterday. I'll throw a $5 on that, FA hasn't even started yet. Portlands odds look great too.

Let's table this for after the free agency period. Right now the Lakers don't even have a head coach, let alone a full roster.

Hahahahah entitled laker fans

Impossible to tell before the draft and FA...

Hahahahah entitled laker fans

why wouldn't we be entitled? the lakers have dominated the NBA since 1980.

06-17-2014, 03:29 PM
It depends who they get via FA/draft but if they don't add some type of all star talent I have a hard time seeing them make the playoffs in a tough west.

06-17-2014, 03:41 PM
No chance

06-17-2014, 03:45 PM
Easily if the lakers decide to go full bore for this year and spend all of money on long contracts. But I don't think they're going to take that route. They might just fill the roster with a year deals and maybe one mid level free agent to get through this year and 2015 will be the big one.

06-17-2014, 03:49 PM
Lakers will draft Randle, Vonleh or Gordon and they will sign Deng and Bosh add that to a healthy Kobe and a coach who actually knowswhat he's doing and I say 8-5 seed with a 2nd round exit.

06-17-2014, 03:51 PM
Oh gawd i sure do hope not golly gee.

06-17-2014, 03:52 PM
Where's the, "miss playoffs, look even worse somehow" option?

06-17-2014, 04:19 PM
Kinda silly to be arguing over this now.

06-18-2014, 02:22 PM
Since this is PSD and most posters here hate the Lakers, then no. In real life, probably yes. I'm going to assume that they will add some nice pieces as well as a solid coach. So yes.

Please ban this guy.

In the WEST? The 48 wins doesn't even get you the 8th seed WEST?

:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:: laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

The total number of posts in the Lakers forum are more than over 15 other team forums combined. Don't come at us like the Lakers are some team without a huge following here  They have a HUGE presence.

I'm sure you would have, or did, say this same exact thing before last year. Or the year before. Look how that played out.

This really should be closed. No good can come from speculation at this point.

06-18-2014, 04:50 PM
If Kobe's healthy they'll have the 8th seed maybe the west is tough

06-18-2014, 05:38 PM
Not a chance in the West. The entire roster is expendable and the franchise is in a transition period at this point. It will take some time for the Lakers, certainly beyond another a year.

If Kobe gets this team in the playoffs, it will honestly be one of his best accomplishments. I just don't think he has the energy nor would I want him to expend himself at the risk of another injury just to lose in the 1st round.
