I wonder how much this guy is going to receive. that's not a problem though for their patron manny pangilinan as he also made it public that he's interested on buying an NBA team (warriors, clippers). blatche could suit up for the Philippines for the 2014 FIBA world cup this august.

thoughts?

Weren't they trying to get McGee as well?

Lol, like the McGee-Blatche duo was so successful.

Better Blatche than McGee. Weird to see an episode of Shaqtin a fool while he is wearing the Filipino jersey.

He doesn't look Filipino

How does this work though, he has no ties to that country whatsoever.

Never mind I found it. They can't breed their own success and great players so they just import.

Did Hakeem not become a citizen while attending college in the states?

Nope. Hakeem was naturalised in '93 and played for USA in '96 as a naturalised player. He was drafted in '84 so all throughout his college career he wasn't an "American" yet.

Duncan also was naturalized in the states I think.

Ibaka is naturalized by Spain, Chris Kaman by Germany, Roy Hibbert by Jamaica.

This may sound ridiculous, but Andray Blatche now is the best basketball player in Asia.

Yeah. This may be a small move in the international stage, but a very big one in the Asian scene.

Haddadi dominated in Asia all day every day. This made sure Iran was in every international competition.

Now Blatche is going to dominate in Asia, and the PH will be in every international competition. Andray could used this experience for some maturity.

Filipino and Heat fan here. He's welcome but it was cool to see his NBA team lose to the heat at round 2.

If you guys saw the Fiba Asia championship last year, you'd know why. ****ing Haddadi, yes Haddadi former Grizzlies, had a monster game for the gold. Well, it's mostly because its like watching high school team vs middle school with the height advantage of Iran. Lol

I watched it. PH will destroy them next year. Blatche is better than Haddadi, but kind of immature.
