**** is about To get real. But I can't predict who is going to win this first game.

I'll go Heat but really in a series that is almost definitely going 6-7 games this could go either way. Danny Green @ home in the Finals is a huuuuge x-factor. He could drain 7 threes and I wouldn't be shocked. That type of hot-shooting could swing a game.

The Spurs have been absolute monsters at home since game 7 of the Mavs series winning by an average of nearly 24 points. (23.7) Diaw needs to continue to exploit the advantages he gets and not be too passive, Green needs to continue to shoot the ball well at home, same with Mills and I think Belienelli could be a bigger factor in this series. Spurs need to play fast and efficiently. They need to win the rebounding battle, and cut down on any unforced turnovers to keep Miami out of transition.

Wouldn't mind see them going to Duncan in the post either. More times than not, I would imagine he will be at an advantage down low.

Anyway, this will be a game I could see Miami stealing. Hopefully I'm wrong

I mean, there are a lot of obvious "haters". There are also guys who are neutral but do get attacked for saying anything negative. But that goes both ways, as always. I mean, you called me a Heat fan the other day after a post that wasn't even defending the Heat...rather, I just wasn't bashing them!!

And factually speaking, the vast majority of the world are actively rooting against the Heat

Because you are suppose to be a Magic fan. Not saying you should bash the Heat, but you definitely like the heat and are constantly defending Lebron, right or wrong. Always putting an angle for his defense. It's fine I understand you are just trying to balance it, but I really wonder your real life views when watching.

And yes when Magic were relevant with Dwight the Heat, Cavs, and Boston were their mini rivalries. Not saying hate them, but you post like you like Miami more now then you even did/do Orlando

He's not streaky at home, he's pretty consistent there actually. I think he's been like 60+ % from 3 this playoffs at home. On the road, he's definitely streaky. And definitely don't want him putting the ball on the floor, it is hard to watch lol.

I think Leonard as well as Diaw are the X Factors. Diaw was very good last series and I think he could have similar advantages this series.

I like LeBron. That's all. I don't run around talking about how great the Heat are. I don't run around telling everyone why the Heat will win. I don't run around acting like a Heat fan at all. I haven't posted in the Heat forum in years. In fact, I do dislike the Heat. I have no idea who I'll root for. Last year I was leaning towards San Antonio because of T-Mac and my desire to see Duncan and Manu succeed. I WAS rooting for Indy in the last series (and I did pick Indy to win too :hide:). I don't like Wade. I've never cared about Bosh (though, I think his demeanor and personality is amazingly entertaining). I do like Ray and Rashard, but that's about it. The Heat are just meh to me. LeBron isn't.

I just like when LeBron shuts up the skeptics and silences the ridiculous narratives he's dealt with his whole career  I want him to get the universal credit I think he deserves. I want perception to = reality. So I root for him.

I enjoying defending him from guys like amos1er, illusionist, nicky, P&G and the rest. I find it fun arguing with people like that. I don't know why...but I do. But I'd rather get flack for being on the side that disagrees with them than being on the side that agrees with them

The Heat and Magic have never played an important series in their respective careers either. It's a rivalry ONLY because they play in the same state. There's nothing that's really ever happened on the court that has given me reason to hate them, period.

I will clarify. The Magic and Heat have played one meaningful series in their respective existences. I believe it was the year after Shaq left in the first round. We were big underdogs and got killed in the first two games. We bounced back and I believe pushed it to 5. It wasn't too heated and expectations that year were pretty low anyways.

But that's it.

I thought at the time he deserved Finals MVP. Going back and looking at the numbers I'm not so sure. But he was tremendous in Game 7. The ball was in his hands during those crunch minutes. Made big play after big play. Blowing by Tayshaun and Co. with ease. And his Game 2 (I think) was sensational too. But you can't go wrong with either of them winning that. Both were great.

Yea... I agree, either are fine. Duncan had a big game 5 and that was a huge game. Well, he and Horry of course. That was just a brutal front line to deal with for TD, so they definitely needed a wing to pull through and Manu was that guy

Hey bucketss,
We did WHAT??? Some of us rooted for the UNMENTIONABLES????
hehe (I didn't; I wouldn't root for them against any other team - I guess virtually without exception. - Why? Because they beat my West-Baylor teams 7 times in the Finals - I've never been able to "accept" them since then. I do recognize great players, teams and coaches in their history though).

2. I don't even know why I respond to your posts, despite whatever you claim, I know you can't be over 17 years old.
3. No laker fan was cheering for Celtics to win a championship. Ever. If they did, they can come correct me. If they did cheer for them it was probably a series in their conference (east) to knock off the heat. You know when they were a newly formed superteam that many did not like for many understandable reasons.

GO .... GO ... GO Both Teams ! Let's Have An All-Time Classic Finals !
I voted "HEAT" in game one.
I have ZERO strong reason to justify that vote; so I'll try here to make up something(s):
1) The HEAT are concerned about their Game 1 losing-ways;

2) DWade is going to go at T.P. relentlessly. (One of the two of them will come out of this game wobbling / semi-re-injured.) I THINK DWade wins this battle.

3) The HEAT are more-rested (one extra day is worth a point or three, no?)

I have NOT decided who I'm rooting for in this Finals.
I'm rooting for:
A) Great Plays by Great Players * in Great Games (OT each time would be fine by me!) (* & by other players too).
B) A 7-Game Series!
C) That these Finals end up being a "repeat" of last year's in terms of thrills and super-high-quality.

My biggest hope HERE ON PSD, is that the complaining against the refs be non-existent (or as little as possible).
Maybe we could have some "smilie" thing that signifies for he/she who uses it:
BLEEP these one-sided refs;
It's 8 VS 5
The NBA wants that team to win
etc.

I find it, at the very least, so distracting to see/read it.

Pretty please?

This is Kawhi's series to show he truly is the future face of the franchise like everyone thinks he should be.

Timmy won his first chip in his 2nd season, taking over the reigns from DRob (who still had 3-4 yrs left of basketball in him), and with aging Avery Johnson and aging Mario Elie and a shooter in Sean Elliott.

In his 3rd season (2nd really because he didn't get much playing time his rookie yr), this is Kawhi's time to take over the reigns from Timmy (1-2 yrs left in him) with an again Parker and Ginobili and a shooter in Danny Green.

99 Duncan = 2014 Kawhi
99 DRob = 2014 Duncan
99 Avery = 2014 Parker
99 Elie = 2014 Ginobili
99 Elliott = 2014 Green

It's just fits, the cycle of life in Spurs land.

Hey Jarvo,

I'd think that THIS moment would be the LEAST suck-full because, in the face of a "devastating" defeat in last year's Finals, the Spurs have made it all the way back to face the HEAT in the REMATCH. Lots to be super-proud of, no?

Man, to think, it's been 7 whole yrs since the Spurs last won the title. Pop, Timmy, TP and Manu must be STARVING.

People say Bron and Wade and Bosh are hungry for the 3peat blah blah blah....it's one thing to have just won the title last yr, it's another to have not won it after 7 yrs.

I remember when Kobe, Fish and Phil last won it in 02, then lost in 04, then got back to the finals 4 yrs later in 08 and lost. They finally won it again in 2009 (7 yrs after their previous title). There is something to be said about the veteran all time great coaches and superstars and role players trying to win 1 after such an enormous hiatus (to their standard).

I really feel like being a fan is too tough with how emotionally invested I get. I'm sure you can attest to that lol. Although honestly, after last year, I felt a lot more mellow. You know this is BS right? It was a typical Broussard-LeBron-ESPN rehearsed question-answer crap again.

Broutard: LeBron, do you guys feel slighted blah blah blah.

LeBron: Yeah Chris, we do feel slighted blah blah blah.

The whole thing couldn't sound any phonier, cornier and rehearsed.

As Skip Bayless said on First Take.

LeBron, GIVE ME A BREAK!!!

Espn and LeBron a bunch of media stirring sensitive pansies trying to get an irrelevant bogus storyline to jump start these finals.

Timmy says something about 'doing it this time' and all of a sudden LeBron and Bosh get their sensitive tampons on and make an issue out of nothing, and that got the media and all you Heat fans riled up for nothing.

I never heard this 'slighted' crap from LeBron's mouth the ENTIRE year until yesterday. You're telling me it took him an ENtIRE YEAR to say the Heat felt slighted about being called lucky?

BS!!!

I like how Duncan looks early on. Both teams seem a little sluggish, you can tell they aren't quite settledBoth teams seem antsy. Gotta calm down, get into their modes, and start playing smoother. Too many turnovers by the Spurs, especially. Nice fadeaway shot by LeBron. But the Spurs must set the tempo, and make Miami nervous by going fast at them every now and again.

Duncan and Manu have both been playing with so much focus lately. I think the older guys realize they have a tremendous opportunity here. And with Parker being hurt so much, they have to pick it up. Hopefully after a couple time outs they cut down on turnovers. That fuels Miami's offense and defense.

As Stephen A. says, with Miami in the fast break, "it's a wrap!"

He (like Wade) have both had bounceback post seasons. I felt like whichever one of them kept up their high level of play, that team would win. And if both did, then it becomes a matter of role players stepping up

Ginobili could really push the Spurs over the top.Yeah, and he's a solid ball-handler since Parker's injury may nag him during the Finals. He held the ball well under pressure against OKC in Game 6, as did the other 4 Spurs on the court. I think Diaw could be an x-factor too.
