Spurs want to keep pace with the Heat. I think they go up 3-1 in this series tomorrow night.

Ibaka's spark return will end tonight, the Spurs will win, lead 3-1, and we'll be one step closer to last year's Finals rematch, Spurs better not choke this time.

so over under on the free throw ratio between teams?

Prediction: 38 Okc/ 16 SA

spurs4#5
05-27-2014, 01:53 PM
This should be a more competitive game from both teams. Less turn overs, more aggression, better shot selection (by the spurs), but I feel the free throw disparity will ultimaly keep this game in check for the thunder. Series goes back to San Antonio tied. Thunder by 3-5.

Yup. This is basically redemption conference finals and nba finals for the spurs. 2 yrs ago choked away 2-0 lead with back door sweep against OKC, and last yr choked away 3-2 against Miami.

They have a chance to get their revenge on both teams. But again, I just don't completely trust them to show up when it really counts.

3 guys who need a bounce back game tonight. Leonard, Parker, Diaw. All played poorly and each have the ability to have a huge impact on the game.

Obviously a much better start for SA. Parker & Leonard both coming out more aggressive. They need to keep it up, and like I said Diaw will need to come in and continue to put pressure on. Many times he has a mis-match in the post

At least the game hasn't been too poorly officiated so far judging from the eye test. A peak at the stat sheet reveals another ft disparity. SA needs to post up Duncan some IMO

kdspurman
05-27-2014, 09:39 PM
15 minutes in, still no FT's. Can't be said SA isn't being more aggressive. Leonard may have even been hit on that 3PA. everything is about even in this game, aside from rebounds and FT's. That's the difference thus far.

Splitter's shot should have been and 1, he was pushed. Belinelli has been fouled a couple times by an over aggressive WB. They just aren't blowing the whistle.

My hope is that the 2nd half SA starts to get more calls. The argument last game was the Spurs weren't being aggressive. I don't think that's been the case at all tonight.

Yeah okc getting away being way too over-aggressive on ball handlers. I know it's not the way the spurs do things, but maybe get chippy and force the refs to call it tighter. Advantage would be to the spurs.

if okc can keep playing like this, they can win this series and the Chip - this speed would give the HEAT swarming D troubles - because you only beat that with speed: crisp passing and motoring bodies. IF okc has the stamina to do this all game long, game after game; the HEAT'd be in big trouble. Otherwise, the Spurs are better built to beat them.

Not at all the reason they're losing. OKC playing with more urgency. It's just demoralizing as a fan to even when playing so poorly, see some of the calls being made. It's like kicking them while they're down. So frustration as a fan builds up.

But yea, Pop likes to pull starters early. He likes to make them watch and hope it motivates them for the next game. A psychological thing
