Shawn Bradley? Really? They should make one about Kwame Brown while they're at it.

they frame it a little different than I remember it being.
"Shawn Bradley came into the NBA in 1993 as a canít-miss prospect. The 7-foot-6 center was destined for a career of highlights that would culminate in a spot in the Hall of Fame."

That is NOT how it was. Bradley was NOT considered a 'can't miss prospect'. He had taken two years off, hadn't played during that time, and only had one year in college. He was spindly thin and most projected him as the next Manute Bol at best, and few thought he would be a HOF, but his size is pretty much the only thing that encouraged a GM to bet on him.

It was more the fear that if he DID blossom, the GM's who passed up on him would be compared to the guy who picked Sam Bowie over Jordan.

As to being a bust, he was picked too high, for sure, but he played to the expectations that most had of him.

Pretty cool.

I don't even know that I fully consider him a bust. He had a bunch of quality years that he lead the league in blocks.

When you are talking top busts he's not going to come up top 20.

Expectations of many were never realistic for him. Also a reminder of how bad scouting was back then for some teams, my 76ers included, to have him rated that high. If he came out today, there is no way he gets the same type of hype.

All that said, the man made $70 million and never sacrificed his integrity. He is happy, healthy, and comfortable. Plenty of big time athletes can't say the same.

I respect him though,he was a good shotblocker and a good man above all.I still laugh when I see those posters(My boy C-Webb posterized him more than everyone lol)

Shawn Bradley wasn't a bust. He was a solid player who was probably picked too high. Who wouldn't take 12 years of Shawn Bradley's rim protection over Michael Beasley's chucking? I'd trade Shawn Bradley for Evan Turner, right now.

I still think hes a ***** for not going in the strip club, respectfully

Why, because he set a standard for himself and didn't cower in a time of pressure?

The guy is religious. He'd be a ***** if he didn't stand up for his convictions because he'd get fined.
