The Cavs are making noises that they arenít going to offer Kyrie Irving ďmax moneyíí this summer via a long-term extension. They donít want to deal the 2014 All-Star Game MVP, but it could come to that, especially if the West Orange product and his family continue to tell people that he wants out. Irving hasnít been a leader in his first three seasons and heís also gained the unwelcomed reputation as a locker-room problem. Those are two reasons the Cavs donít see him as a max player. With the Cavs having the number 1 overall and a chance to get a franchise player should the Cavs look to deal Kyrie to a team in the top 10 of this year draft ? 4 teams come to mind are the Lakers , Orl , Utah and Sac . It's no secret that LA will chase Kyrie but is the 7th pick worth it and would Cle do it ?

Sad how the Cavs have now had 3 first picks in 4 years and 4 in 11 years and still have nothing solid.

Yea it really is , hopefully their new GM steers them in the right direction and this non max deal is this summer is a start.

They are Cleveland, they will be lucky if he wants to stay.

See that's more reason to try and deal him for a high pick IMO .

Should they LOOK to? No.

But no one should be untradable, either. If someone offers you something stupid, go for it.

Kyrie's better than what he showed last year. He's still a pup too. Moving him for the sake of it serves no purpose. Especially for a package surrounding the 7th pick. Kyrie's worth way more than just that (and obviously LAL has nothing else to offer with it of value).

They can still control him for quite sometime too. It's too early to move him for fear of him leaving.

I would only move him if I got a top 3 (can't miss) pick. Kyrie is still young and I think he will be a stud

I would def keep Kyrie. The top 3 prospects don't include a PG.

True but smart is a top 3 talent in any other draft class

This guy gave Bennett his only vote for all rookie team ... there goes his credibility :laugh2:

Depends on the deal. I don't like Irvings game and think he's not a guy to build around so personally I'd be very tempted by the Lakers pick if Smart is available and an unprotected pick next year since I wouldn't be surprised if they were in the lottery again.

I'd also probably do it for a another top 3 or even 4 pick

If their owner was not such a tool I would actually root for them to get it back together.

I mean if it is true that they won't give him a max and he will surely get a max in free agency they would have to trade him.

I haven't watched him enough to know if he deserves the max.

No defense , doesn't make his teammates better , seems not to be much of a leader . I can see why lol

They should be much better than they're with that roster . They all share equal Blame , they all underachieved as an organization Irving included .
