If Ibaka plays he's gonna be hobbled and he's not gonna be enough to make the difference after two utterly dominant Spurs performances.

I expect a big game from KD or will his disappointing playoffs continue...

I think if you actually did your homework, and not kept listening to Reggie Miller, you would see just how different these 2 series are.

I think OKC has this. It takes one game for KD to get hot and start erupting. Must-win for OKC. If they lose, series is over. OKC needs to play strong and try to capture the next 2.

Keys for tonight for the Spurs :

-Don't turn the ball over
-Stay out of foul trouble
-Withstand what will likely be a fast start from OKC in their building
-Continue to run guys off the 3 point line, make Fisher/Butler/Sefalosha put it on the floor

lol, please

Nah. You can be sloppy with the ball and win against certain teams. And OKC shoots FT's better than most teams, so that's usually automatic points.

OKC relies on a lot of ISO play, and them getting out in transition adds another element to their team. Gets them hyped, Westbrook starts going bezerk, crowd gets into it, etc...

So by not turning it over, it forces them to continue to score in a half court set. Still not easy to stop, especially if Durant is hot, but at that point you play the %'s.

No way OKC goes down 3-0. They know series is done if that happens. 100% chance OKC wins this game. I'm so confident, I'm probably not going to even watch the game.

I didn't say that, but I wouldn't be shocked if they did. It is the Spurs after all. I can't remember a team playing at such a peak and give up so many series leads.

I don't have much confidence in the Spurs as of right now. Sorry. Even if they do get past OKC, I don't have much confidence in them actually "beating the Heat". They'll make it "interesting" like last yr's finals, but still won't win it. A Ginobili injury, a Tony Parker hammy, a Popovich end game substitution brain fart, a Danny Green 7 3's one game followed by bagel games after that, a Duncan DNP Old or something crazy like that in a crucial game or moment will prevent them from winning it all this yr as well.

Basically this. OKC has to win these two if they want any chance. They usually do a good job of bouncing back and maybe the fans can distill some hope back into Durant. He's going to have to put up the high 30's with rebounding, defense, and passing. If not, I really hope Westbrook can average a triple double..

Hey Starter,
Miss me???
Hey Hubie Brown, imho, is THE All-Time Greatest NBA Announcer (with a shout-out to "The Telestrator")

For OKC to win against the Spurs "Machine-Waves":
1) KD 35 points EFFECTIVELY
2) Westy 27 points PLUS triple-double (if Ibaka is close to 100%; otherwise, he won't get the assists).
3) Ibaka is very close to 100% (anybody know)

I agree if Spurs win tonight; "that's all she wrote" PLUS the Spurs will be well-rested for the HEAT - they'll need it.

Without Ibaka at near-full-strength, as another poster has already said, KD+Westy need 70 points; and it probably still won't be enough.

I've changed my opinion about Pop:
FROM: One Of The All-Time Coaches
TO: THE Greatest Coach In NBA History (coaching the most-dominant 17-year run *; 50+ wins @ year; 4 Chips, so far).

* I know: The C's were more dominant era-wise; but there were less than half the number of teams and less play-off games/rounds to win. Plus, while I've long-considered RED The Most Era-Dominant Coach (plus GM!) In NBA (if not all-sports) History; coaching back then was not nearly as competitively great as it is now.

btw, I absolutely hated RED for being such a genius and killing my Lakers endlessly (7 Finals, YIKES!).
Still, as "brutal" as it is to say it, The MoFo was a Giant of a Coach/GM, totally overshadowing his competitors.

2) Phil Jackson: True he has 11 Chips; but he had WAY more talent to work with than Pop. Conversely, Pop has done an even better job than Phil coaching the talent he's been dealt.
imo, though I love Phil; Pop has simply done "more with less"; thus he's the better coach.

Forgive me, somehow, Lakers (and Bulls and now Knicks) fans!!!

I'll vote as soon as somebody reports here (hopefully) what the game-time "prognosis" on Ibaka is - for me he's that important to OKC. They pretty much can't beat the S.A.S. Smooth-As-Silk Machine without their #3 at close to 100%.

How come this thread's POLL says: "This poll will close on 05-26-2014 at 03:21 PM"?
Why not: "This poll will close on 05-25-2014 (TODAY) at GAME-TIME" ?

There isn't any good reason (much less any "bad" reasons?) to keep it open one moment after tip-off, is there?

P.S. Don't I sound like a "good mod should", all gnarly and nasty, with that "(Vote On-Time Or STFU??)"
I'm coming for your job, dude !!! (Maybe I should be the one to STFU??) hehe

Interesting Thunder starting Jackson. They really will have to play well, cause SA can go to its bench and not miss a beat in terms of scoring the ball.

I also look for Parker to be even more aggressive since he won't have a bigger defender on him

When you make the thread, it says how long do you want the poll to be open when you make the thread. So I made this yesterday afternoon and said 1 day. So it puts 1 day exactly after the thread time was created at that time.

That's just sort of the way it is designed I believe, can't really edit that unfortunately. I just have to close the poll at game time.

Despite Ibaka not missing, the crowd into it, still a close game early on. Just need to keep the game close. Russ is a hot head though. He turned it over, got frustrated, purposely fouled Manu then complained. He got a ton of leeway in game 2 despite him complaining a lot. Not 1 T on him.

The 3rd on Perkins was good though, he was moving the whole time. 2nd one seemed like a missed call, but at the same time, OKC is probably better off with him in foul trouble lol

Possibly, but we have got to do a better job of keeping SA off the three point line. Green and Manu are lights out tonight from behind the arc. Our perimeter defense has been pretty awful.
