I can't wait!

Heat should easily win the series compared to last yr's ECF. But let's see what these bipolar Pacers got.

Yeah, they're fake. Lance Stephenson has always been a little prick. Now, without Psycho T, the Pacers have David West as their lead "tough guy." They're a bunch of fake players. Lance Stephenson got nailed in the neck by Pittman and then shut up for the rest of that series. They just talk trash and act fake, so the title is justified.

I don't think they're fake tough guys. Now Lance Stephenson is a bit of a nut job, kinda reminds of a young Ron Artest in many ways. but Lance and DWest are guys that I'd want on my team.

Roy Hibbert now, that guy is puddy toilet paper soft.

Ron Artest is a dude you don't want to mess with as evident by the Malice at the Palace and elbowing James Harden. Now, he's just tough guy. Stephen Jackson was a former Pacers' tough guy. West is tough to an extent because he can commit hard fouls without hesitation. Lance is the guy who is more likely to get a tech or an ejection. Hibbert is just an oaf when he plays now.

I don't want to make any prediction lol, this Pacers team is such a mystery you don't know what are you going to get. They will play better for sure, especially Hibbert. But we aren't the Hawks or the Wizards. Let's see what happens!

Let's Go HEAT!

P&GRealist

I tend to think that with losing 2 straight game 1s at home (at the hands of both Hawks and Wiz), the Pacers will be more determined not to let that happen a 3rd straight time. But again, they're bipolar, so anything can happen.

I think the Pacers can beat the Heat. This Heat team has booted them from the playoffs the last few years in a row. Maybe this can drive them to playing on the level they can play at.

Hibbert playing well is the only way they will win against the Heat. If Indiana tries to act tough/intimidate and PG did indeed bang Hibberts girl, expect someone like Chalmers to use it against them lol.

I'm hoping Battier comes out of this without getting injured. He took a serious beating last year against West.

I think every game will be close but the closeout game will be a blowout, Miami's not as good as last year but Indiana's been even that much worse and inconsistent against inferior teams and Miami is well rested. Indy's advantage will be rebounding, interior defense and posting up Miami's smaller lineup, but Miami will shoot high fg%, fastbreak, get indys big's in foul trouble, Miami's bench is also deeper. Indy would have to get a lot of points off the bench from Luis Scola, Evan Turner and CJ Watson which I don't see happening. I see Miami winning every game though with this likely scenario: Indiana will challenge and play Miami to their best, but won't be able to put up enough points or get the defensive stops at the end of games. Roy Hibbert will be in foul trouble and tired chasing Chris Bosh on the 3 point line, George Hill will turn the ball over and be outplayed by Mario Chalmers and Norris Cole, Lebron James and Dywayne Wade will cancel out Paul George and Lance Stephenson in an almost even matchup. David West will be the main advantage Indiana will have, but Miami will force him to shoot his jumpers. Indy will have to deal with 3 point shooting from Ray Allen, Rashard Lewis, Chris Bosh, James Jones and Shane Battier. Games 1 and 2 in Indiana will be close by 1 or 2 points, game 3 will be a must win for Indiana if being down by 2 games but Miami will miraculously pull it off at home and then game 4 the heat will just go all out and beat them by 20 points in a closeout game 4 at home.

Looking ahead to his matchup with Wade, beginning in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Sunday (3:30 p.m., ABC), Stephenson revealed that making Wade’s problematic right knee “flare up” is part of his strategy.

“D. Wade — I think his knee is messed up, so I’ve got to be extra aggressive and make him run and have him running around and make his knee flare up or something,” he said after the Pacers practiced this afternoon. “I’ll do anything as much as possible.”

Lance just wants to make Wade work, that's all. If Wade is guarding him, I'm expecting Lance to be running around a lot and be very active across the floor.

Only the Spurs could stay motivated, and that's because of the culture of hte players.

True enough. But outside of that, Vogel HAS the Pacers really sharply moving the ball on O. And, my main point, is that the Pacers' excellent ball movement is superior to the HEAT's D (so far) which is what is resulting in the open shots allowing the possibility for such sharp-shooting.

At the half, Spo's gonna have to make important adjustments on D.

I don't think I've ever seen a team readily give up the mid-range shot as much as Indiana has been today, but Miami refuses to take it. That's Bosh's bread, butter, appetizer, entree, desert and midnight snack at this point. He needs to stop dicking around behind the three-point line and take it.

That "was" Bosh's bread and butter. He now only wants to take nothing but 3's.

Announcer- & commentator-wise, I think the NBA has a bunch of great ones:
Reggie Miller is classy
Mike "The Telestrator" Fratello knows this game.
Marv Albert has always been good.
Doug Collins is sharp, insightful.
JVG & Mark Jackson, more former coaches who really give expert and unbiased analysis.
There's another ex-coach they have who is tremendous (name escapes me).
There's also a black play-by-play guy (Mike T (?) who's the best at describing the flow of the game.
iirc, these last two team up together to do games.

OTOH, Bill Simmons & Jalen Rose are, imo, not up to the quality of the rest of them.

Shaq & Chuck are not as good (though sometimes very funny) as the other two guys they "Inside" with.

One problem the HEAT have on O, is that when they're shooting lots of outside jumpers they're getting almost no 0-rebs - too low a percentage to be going "outside shot" so often. Wade and LeBron have to drive more often to mix things up, score more, and force more space for the outside shooters.

Maybe so but it's not the reason the pacers are winning like many believe. I mean c'mon, let's not act like the heat dont get the benefit the whistle some games too. Every team does. PPL are so quick to cry refs now, it's like their team can never lose fairly, it's always the refs now. .

The played better ball, but you even up the free throw count and Miami is at least in this game. Even so, many of those "Loose Ball" and touch fouls that have gone against Miami haven't gone against Indy.

You can't even up the free throw count when the Heat committed more fouls. Stop complaining. They sucked today. Try again in game 2.

Bosh should probably not play again in this series. He never comes to play against Indy.

Its like the NBA wants the Pacers to win game 1 to give the confidence and make the ECF a "good series" and increase their ratings. Job well done for them!

I disagree strongly about THIS GAME. Indy has just been shooting the lights out (with excellent ball-movement being key).

But I did ask myself this question during the First Round of the Playoffs. We had 5 Game 7s. Never before. And it certainly was good for business for the NBA. Still, I can't really point to any examples where I'd be willing to claim that the refs OBVIOUSLY favored a team so as to prolong a series.

doesnt miami get favourable calls more often than not in almost every game they play ? I mean if there is such thing as a "superstar" call, lebron & wade probably get the most..
Definitely not this season and definitely not against the pacers, Pacers always had refs on their side, go check Pacers FTA disparity in last years series and check their FTA per game last season, thats the only way for pacers to keep up with Miami and bring ratings for the series. Refs are gonna be on Indys side this series, because they are not good enough than Miami.

The heat is the one team Indy always comes ready to play against so Idk why Bron and Bosh have both been very passive throughout this game. Missing those open 3s and stupid TO's in the first half really hurt them out the gate though.

Here's the thing tho, you can't just even up the FT disparity when IND has just been more aggressive. If FT disparity is your only "proof" of the refs being on IND's side then I'm not going to able to change your mind, it's impossible to make you see something else when you're already convinced the refs are against you, when they clearly aren't. .

I was speaking only about the disparity between fts. I already can see with my own eyes Pacers have generally been playing better throughout this game. There was only 1 game I really complained about the refs this post season and that was that game 5 screw job the refs did the clippers. Not that one play in the 4th but the whole game in general it was blatantly obvious.

I wasn't referring to you, I'm talking about the other fans in here acting like the heat are only losing because of the refs.

I wish DWade would cease and desist with his career-long bad-habit of stop-playing in order to complain about a call - he seriously hurts the HEAT D by doing that - and it just looks BAD.

I think the Clippers got hosed in their series with OKC.

Miami fans should not complain about this game. Pacers came to play and took the heat by the cojones

Spo doesnt utilize bosh properly. Bosh has turned in to a guy who sets screens, and spots up for open 3's. He is capable of soo much more than that.

Miami's D has been puke-worthy. Or maybe that's my hangover.

Either way, good game to bet the Pacers.

LOL bro, Spo having two rings is a joke. His championships and accolades are the result of Pat Riley gifting him the Big 3 in their prime. He has always been, is and will continue to be a terrible coach.

If Miami had watched any film of the Pacers first two series, Hibbert's disappearing acts were due to foul trouble. Begin the game attacking the rim, LeBron, Wade, Bosh, attack Hibbert and force him into foul trouble, and the Pacers then become a jump-shooting, one dimensional team.

that doesnt even make any sense bro lol ...

when the Heat lose you blame the refs, when they win do you thank them ?

This Indy team is reminding me of the "only other" NO-SUPERSTAR team that was highly successful in the Playoffs: The Pistons in the 2000s.

I find great enjoyment in such a "unique" achievement; NOT having a "go-to" guy; yet executing COLLECTIVELY so well. I hope they can keep this up - give the HEAT everything they could ever ask for. (Even so, I'd still figure the HEAT win this series; but boy would that make it the best entertainment).
