I'm starting to think Phil has no idea what he's doing. He's just picking names out of a hat he use to coach and hope they want some part of whatever he is doing.

I hope Phil Jackson remembers that Steve Blake averaged a measly 4 ppg on that 2011 Laker team that failed to 3peat and got swept in the 2nd round by Dallas. Steve Blake was supposed to be the replacement for Jordan Farmar that season. Laughable.

Steve Blake is NOT a triangle point guard. Far from it.

Seems like he's bringing the former Lakers up with him too. I'm starting to feel bad for Knick fans. A washed up Lamar Odom and Steve Blake aren't going to exactly hold Carmelo to the team.

It's about teaching other players the triangle. Blake might not be a great triangle pg but he can teach it.

Lol no he can't. The 1 yr he was under Phil, he COULD NOT grasp it. He's a D'Antonio type of point guard. Dribble the ball around in circles, penetrate to kick out to 3 pt shooters, and shoot the 3 himself. That's it.

Anyone want a fat point guard who sucks at basketball? What he lacks in skills he eats in left overs.

Blake is a good addition to help teach players the Triangle Pau Gasol would be another guys I'd add Blake/Fisher, Odom , and Bynum/Gasol would be the three ex Lakers I'd target Odom already being there.

The actual starting point guard I'd grab is Jimmer could be a very valuable triangle point guard with his elite shooting and lack of being a point guard Triangle is perfect for him.

Doubted they be key role players off the bench. They be the 11th and 12th men.

Steve Blake isn't even half as good as day Felton when he's on. Too funny. Quickly challenging billy king( lmao traded basically Damian Lillard for Gerald Wallace) the worst in the league

This is so dumb. How is swapping Felton for Blake the same as trading Llilard for Wallace.

Phil has always been a New Age kind of guy, so I can understand he'd be in to recycling, but this is getting beyond belief. I understand the Knicks are not in a power position and he has to work around the edges to at least begin to raise the team IQ, but can he not judge players that he doesn't have direct history with?

I'm sure Dolan is already pacing around his office and mumbling to himself. I just can't see this ending well.

phil likes to bring in former players that know the system,he did the same thing when he first went to l.a. with bringing in grant, rodman, harper, salley, ect.(even though all of them were also washed up at the time to),its to help players that are already there adjust to the new culture he is implementing

You couldn't be more wrong. Phil Jackson has no idea what he's doing? His intentions for implementing the triangle by having coaches and players who understand the nuances of the system be incorporated is key to getting the foundation built. Success will take time, but trust me, Phil has a plan.

If anything, Phil wants no part of what the rest of the NBA is doing and he certainly wants no part of any player that doesn't fit his system.

We'd have to find a starting SF imo at that point as that would make us smaller than we already are.

Phil knows what he is doing. Knicks need a serious injection of intelligence and character, perhaps more than any other team. And a pg that won't dribble the air out of the ball. That's melos role.

Can we just get a point guard that I like at least a little bit? Preferably one that isn't already washed up?

I don't expect phil to work miracles but replacing Felton with Blake, although an upgrade, doesn't exactly excite me either.

Anyone remember him?it's time for him to defend his beloved Felton.

2009 & 2010 - back up 3 guards: Jordan Farmar, Sasha Vujacic, Shannon Brown (2 championships)

2011 - back up 3 guards: Steve Blake, Matt Barnes, Shannon Brown (swept by Dallas in round 2)

Coincidence that the Laker bench went to **** in 2011 despite Lamar winning 6th man of the yr award that season????
