Probably not that big of a deal to you youngins, but the basketball aficionados who follow the history of the game will appreciate this.

D-Fish will be facing the Spurs franchise in the playoffs for the 9th time in his 16 trips to the postseason.

Postseason Career vs the Spurs

1999: Lakers get swept in the Semis 4-0 (0-1)
2001: Lakers sweep them in the WCF 4-0 (1-1) (Record for best 3pt percentage and most 3's made in a 4 game sweep series, going 15/20 75% from 3s)
2002: Lakers beat them in the Semis 4-1 (2-1)
2003: Lakers lose in the Semis 4-2 (2-2)
2004: Lakers win in the Semis 4-2 (3-2) (The famous 0.4 shot)
2007: Jazz lose in the WCF 4-1 (3-3)
2008: Lakers beat them in the WCF 4-1 (4-3)
2012: Thunder beat them in the WCF 4-2 (5-3)

2014: Thunder will ???

With a 5-3 record against a team like the spurs, he's in pretty good shape.

His 0.4 sec shot will be never forgotten, I was 22 and was jumping all over my bedroom at 07:00 AM

Asik's better

kobe is 8-1 against the spurs in the playoffs

99: swept by them (0-1)
01: sweep them (1-1)
02: wins in 5 (2-1)
03: loses in 6 (2-2)
04: wins in 6 (3-2)
08: wins in 5 (4-2)
13: did not play due to injury, but his team got swept (Not sure if we can even count this)

Not sure where you are getting that 8-1 record from. By my counts, if we don't count 2013 when the Lakers were led by the Coward and no Kobe, Kobe himself is 4-2.

kobe is 8-1 against the spurs in the playoffs

he's 4-2. that includes 2008 when Duncan and the rest of the Spurs looked old against the revamped Lakers.

that Spurs supporting cast from 2008 was ancient.
