Has any coach been fired from the same franchise twice?

Well, the Lakers are still paying him technically. Might as well re-hire him for peanuts and save money. :laugh2:

Has happened in the MLB, now happening in the NBA is a good question.

Phil Jackson has never been fired from a coaching position.

This comes across as pathetically hilarious.

I like Brown. Seems like a nice guy. I feel bad for him. But why did the Cavs hire him. They JUST fired him. I remember when the Bulls were thinking of bringing back Doug Collins... the owner wasn't really the one who wanted him fired initially, and they remained friends. The GM who did fire him was gone, and MANY years later, they considered bringing him back. That made sense.

As to the Cavs, they JUST fired the guy. Why would you bring him back just to fire him again? I understand they have a new GM, but...

There are a disgusting number of coaches getting paid to not coach. And teams are firing coaches at an alarmingly frequent rate.

Back in the day, coaches were given time. Look at how long Sloan stayed. And Chuck Daly. Pop.

Brown would be a great assistant coach with a focus on defense. I wish him luck.

New GM has a different scheme. Also its well known Grant is good friends with Brown and lobbied hard for them to hire him once he was fired and the less than stellar season the cavs put up it was clear Brown wouldn't be back.

Damn homey. Well he's still getting paid so ultimately the jokes on them.

Seems like a good dude, I'm sure he'll get another shot. I don't really blame him, the Apostle Paul could've coached that team and still lost.

Yup, Chris Grant and Mike Brown have been very close friends dating back to when they played college ball together.

Man he is going to be paid 20mil over the next 4 years to do nothing. Good for him.

I like this for the Cavs though. They need to change the style. I put this on Gilbert for nothing changing GM's sooner.

That's a damn shame. They're just trolling the boy. I understand that hes not a great coach but Cleaveland already knew this. He's the same damn coach that he was when he got fired the first time

I was too…Clearly he was a stop gap…Then again, I'd like to be fired and still owed for over $15 million in future salary. Wouldn't have to work another day in my life if I didn't want to, especially at that age. Too bad the vast majority of us will never feel that kind of financial security.

He seemed to be brought in to be the fall guy. Thought the cavs played motivated basketball for that stretch when that washed up porn star offered herself to them if they made the postseason

It didn't help that Cleveland has been squandering draft picks left and right tho. In particular that garbage, fat number # 1 pick they just acquired.

The Cavs have fallen so far. From the Finals to this...even with Kyrie Irving.

Cavs have to be the most poorly run franchise in the league. Contract them!
