I think Taj should have won it too...but Crawford wasn't a bad pick. We do still reward bench scoring a bit more than we should. Taj was a significantly more impactful player this year, IMO. He didn't quite score at the same pace, obviously, but his defense and rebounding were just so much more valuable.

I have to wonder a little if this whole Clippers storm had an impact on the final voting. But it's not like Crawford was undeserving. Would have loved to see Taj get it but oh well. Congrats to Crawford.

well deserved. he took over/won a lot of games. led the league in 4th Q scoring. stepped in and started when JJ was out. good for him.

Taj was Chicago's only consistently good scorer in the playoffs

Curious to see where Markieff landed in this. Didn't start a game and was up there in scoring and rebounds. Without him, the Suns don't have a productive bench.

Similar stats to Gibson too.

Should have went to Taj , this guy started like 20 games and last night was evident how much the bulls needed Taj . Also played the best of the bulls in the series . Especially being his 2nd time they should have awarded it somebody new .

Felt Gibson was the better choice but it isn't a terrible pick

The criteria for this award needs to be re-imagined.

18 PPG on 14 shots in 30 minutes? He's a nice scorer, but i don't see how he impacted the game more than Taj or Markieff for that matter.

. The guy that started almost a half of the games this season is a "6th man". Morris led the league in double-doubles off the bench, rebounds and total points. Taj Gibson deserved it more as well. 6MOY is just giveng to the best chucker coming off the bench.

Voting for all end of year awards happens before the playoffs start, I believe. They just stagger the announcements.

This just goes to show how uneducated the media still is compared to committed fans. Markieff Morris should have won this, hands down.

Anybody think he got it because of the recent clipper drama ?

That's a little ridiculous that Crawford won it...he missed 13 games and started 24 games. So he played 45 games off the bench while Taj played 74 games off the bench.

Poor Taj, hes one of the best defensive 4's in the game and had become a go-to guy for the bench, even though hes not really that efficient at it for them. Crawford really came alive during CP3's absence and up until his late season injury, was playing the best ball of his career. Voters prolly put heightened stock in that stretch for some reason.

I agree that scorers tend to get too much credit, but what you said depends on your definition of a chucker. I could argue that Taj is more of a blackhole than Crawford, hes certainly less efficient offensively.

Ehhh, about the most worthless award out there. Hey, here's the best player after we eliminate 150 other guys that have been able to crack a starting lineup... He plays as many or more minutes than Duncan, Parker, Westbrook.

Nice to see him win I guess, but this award never really was one that I got excited about. Kind of just feels a bit too much as the participant trophy kids get.

^not sure how else you can justify picking him over either Gibson or Morris then.

I honestly think 6th man goes to the most explosive scorer off the bench. Now granted Clips had injuries to their backcourt this yr and Crawford had to start, but his MAIN role from 1st part of season and then end of season was the 6th man coming off the bench.

I would have given it to him too. He's the guy that made the bench roll.

The second guy that would have gotten consideration if his team actually made the playoffs imo should have been a guy like Nick Young. He averaged 18 ppg off the Laker bench and the games that the Lakers won, it was because of him.

Yea, what a scorer! He single-handedly cost us the 6th worst record. If it weren't for his 41 pt game in utah we would've likely gotten the 4th pick in this years draft! :(

I was a bit disappointed when we first signed craw due to his one dimensional play. But he has evolved as a team player and boy is he clutch.
