View Full Version : Annoyed By Tony Allen's 'Performance'?

Text copied and pasted from JJH's post on another player, text slightly altered.

This was the play:

What I have an issue with is how Long [Tony Allen] spends after the play selling the foul. To me, that just seemed excessive. I realize it was [not even a foul]. But when he spends that much time selling it... it's frankly annoying. I realize he needs a minute to get himself together after being [not even fouled], but he the way he's [lying] on the ground and rolling over and grabbing at his [leg] and wincing... it frankly looked like a scripted WWF match (I'm oldschool, forget that WWE $#!T).

(Why pick on just the stars? We pretend like only the stars do **** like this, when that's not even close to the reality of the fact. They're just the only ones we care about when they do. Hell, even among the stars it's only news when it's a polarizing one. That is my point. Have a splendid day. For the record, I love this play! :worthy: )

I love stuff like this. Strategy.

Tony has done this before and was fined for it. This recent one was nowhere near as bad as last years acting though.

I think fans tend to hold star players to a higher standard.

Lol. Seems like sort of a bait thread Manram :). But you're right. It's a pretty common occurrence. That's the way to get your way in the NBA now. Lots of acting, whining, and complaining. But it works so they might as well to help their team. Some of it still annoys me but I'm pretty used to it by now. Lebron's just one of many who use it to their benefit. I think for most people it's just more bothersome with Lebron because of what a beast he is. This huge athletic beast comes barreling down the lane constantly and is very difficult to stop. But sometimes you tap him on the chest and he flops five feet. It's just a little comical sometimes because of how big and physical he is. I get why he gets singled out. But clearly he's just one of many.

I didn't see it live cause I was at work, but in the video was he flopping to sell a call or did he just fall down and fake a injury? Tony plays possum from time to time but it did not look like he was looking for a foul call.

that was an EXCELLENT example of cherry pickin'! Easy basket.

All I know is Steve Nash took a headbutt to the nose and needed stitches and he managed to stay on his feet the entire time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rM0ndgMMVEA

If Steve Nash is harder than you, then you need to toughen up!
