The **** I've seen from game 1 up to game 82 was a horror show. Yes the players were held responsible as well with the off court issues but Woodson did a terrible job from selling his soul to the CAA to undermining players and playing favorites again and again

Does this include herb Williams? Or is Dolans in house snitch still a part of this team for some unknown reason?

It had to happen. It sucks cause Woody did a good job considering the injuries and egos he had to maintain.

He did a horrendous job all season. He let the wrong egos run the locker room while he put hard workers in his dog house for unexplained reasons.

Dang, you KNOW it's a new age when Herb Williams is fired. That's the only surprising part for me. :)

As for Woodson's firing...

Time for Phil Jackson to really put his stamp on this club. I think we all figured Woodson would be fired because Phil wants to handpick his own coach. I wonder if he's going to do this for players as well or if he's going to let his GM (if they have one) take care of this?

I think Phil in his current position can be most useful by using his influence and name to attract stars to the team, in the same way that Pat Riley has done (or maybe it was Dwayne Wade who should get the credit).

I wouldn't be surprised if Phil picked someone who knows the triangle...

Short term it is undoubtedly going to be worse if NY is looking to rebuild the right way and instead of the terrible quick, band-aid fixes that got them into this mess in the first place.

As for getting Phil, my opinion hasn't changed. I always question any move where a team tries to convince a coach/gm/executive out of retirement. Usually is a sign of desperation and one has to wonder if said coach/gm/executive will have that same fire that he had during his success. Maybe it'll work out, but with the number of clauses and perks that Phil wanted, leads me to believe that he isn't fully into it.

Do you guys believe it was performance based or just a situation where phil wants to have his own guys come in?

I know the team had issues but I believe the owner played a part in that as well.

melo kills another coach,

Blame Melo. He always had nothing but good things to say about Woodson and always supported him, even got choked up talking about him, calling him a father figure.

melo kills another coach,

Mike Woodson took over as a INTERIM coach and Melo played the best ball of his career for 2 1/2 years under him making Woodson over 11 million dollars. Yeah thats some coach killer alright. The iq of some posters isn't very high.

He demanded these things to keep our drunkard batshit crazy owner out of his face and let him do his job....

I think they are just trying to get a fresh start. Which is a really smart thing to do at this point.
