Biggest game of the season for us, no joke. Lose and we're tied for the 4th worst record. Win and we get the 5th or even 6th worst record :(

Gonna be a tank match at Utah, hope we lose, I'll be upset if we win, a win today can really affect our future. . just lose baby!!!

Lets go Jazz!

Lets go Boston!

Lets go Grizzlies!!

Grizz @ Suns... That game will probably be very intense! Suns let 2 games get away from them over the weekend so I think they might pull this one out. Making Wednesday's games for these 2 teams even more meaningful

P&GRealist

Hopefully Celtics beat Sixers.

Hopefully Jazz beat Lakers.

2 very important tank games.

Then we have Raps and Bulls fighting for the 3rd/4th seed. So their games are going to be very important.

Nobody likes the Suns. They deserve not to make the playoffs after not trading for Pau Gasol when they had the chance. They can kick rocks, hopefully the Grizzlies blow them out in PHX and put an end to their season.

Another staggering stat of the season:

tomhaberstroh Tom Haberstroh
Duncan-Parker-Ginobili have been on the floor together for 15% of the Spurs' season. And they'll probably win 64 games.

Not really worried about that game. Nervous as **** for our game tho. Lets go Jazz.

Honestly, this game can really impact our future tremendously. We need the loss, a win can be a huge blow and can be the difference between Embiid, Wiggins, Exum, Parker or Randle, Smart, Vonleh, Harris. I'll take any of the first 4, would be really upset with the other 4.

I know they're losing to the 2nd worst team in the league, but Boston has been fighting these last three games...even with all the "tank implications" or whatever.

They're riding their starters and best players...huge minutes. THey're trying, they just suck

Agreed. I think MIL, ORL, LAL, BOS, UTA all genuinely suck. No tanking, just not enough to get wins.

BTW, Utah up 6!!! Lets goooo!! :)

After the incredible season Dragic has had, it freaking sucks to see him make these kinds of mistakes in the final minute and a half of a game that means everything for the Suns. Regardless, the dude had an amazing season and the Suns have nothing to be ashamed of.

It's kind of a bummer that they're not in, though. I really thought Phoenix could have given the Spurs a run for their money over seven games. I'd be surprised to see Memphis push it to six games. They're anemic offensively.

That's ****ing nonsense. You're talking about a team that very easily could have won this game and be headed to the postseason. Based on that atrocious logic, I could easily make the case that Memphis doesn't deserve to make the playoffs because their offense is pathetic. Both teams are good enough to make the playoffs. Yes, I do. At least the Suns actually won a game against the Spurs this year and all three of their losses were relatively close. I easily could have seen a scenario where a pumped up Suns team comes out and wins Game 1, gets a win a home and ties up the series at 2-2 before the Spurs enforce their will. They match up fairly well with San Antonio and would have made for a far more difficult matchup than the Grizzlies.

Why is it ridiculous to think that San Antonio could have lost two games to a talented, upstart Phoenix team with nothing to lose?

See, I go the opposite direction with it. I think a team like Phoenix would be playing with house money in the playoffs. Because they're young and no one believed in them in the first place, there would literally be no pressure on them whatsoever. It reminds me of Golden State last year. Memphis, meanwhile, was coming off getting swept in the Conference Finals last year to the very team they might be facing in the first round.

A #8/7 seed going up against a #1/2 seed has nothing to lose. Memphis would also have nothing to lose. Sure spurs aren't talked about like the Heat or OKC are but they would still be HEAVY favorites against Memphis. Memphis has nothing to lose this series. A series win vs the Grizz can come at a huge price, whoever faces them will be banged up in round 2 and primed for an upset.

The amazing part is the 82nd game for Memphis and Dallas will be against each other, and they'll be fighting over the 7th seed.

So you're basing this off the regular season? I realize the spurs swept em in the WCF last year but that's the thing the grizzlies still made it to the WCF. A team that makes it to the WCF is no pushover. Things may not have gone their way last year, but that doesn't mean they can't beat them this year. Regular season record means nothing, Nets swept the Heat 4-0 this regular season. Id still Choose the Heat to beat Brooklyn in 5 games.

Although your statement is probably correct, it won't be because of Houston. They're in the same boat as GS. Nice flashy team that won't make it past the 2nd round.

First off, note that I said "in a couple of weeks." Given the fact that Houston is the 4th seed and Golden State is 6th, they wouldn't even be able to play the Warriors until mid May in the Western Conference Finals. So, if anything, I was clearly stating that the Clippers would beat them in the first round.

Secondly, why even bring up Houston? I never mentioned them once in my post, and it seems like you're just going out of your way to instigate. But if you want to go that route, I'd definitely give Houston an edge to make the WCF over the Warriors. They get HCA in the first round against a team they proved they can beat and then go up against a Spurs team they swept in the regular season.

I didn't make that post to make this a dick measuring contest between Rockets and Warriors fans, but if you want to go there, I can assure you that our's is bigger.

I'm not just basing it solely on the regular season. I'm basing it on the regular season AND last year's postseason. Consider that the Spurs swept the Grizzlies last year and they've arguably been better this season while the Grizzlies have not been as good a basketball team as they were a year ago. Be honest with me right now. If it's Memphis vs. San Antonio in the first round, would you take the over or the under on the series lasting 5.5 games? Are you honestly going to tell me with confidence that you're taking the over?

the most "cocky" fanbase on PSD is the fanbase of a lower seed team that has proclaimed multiple times that higher seeded teams are no match for them despite no evidence supporting this cockiness while touting this #fullsquad "rallying cry" like it's a good thing that your team isn't good enough to deal with injuries. this fanbase has also created threads attempting to fish for compliments from other fanbases like an insecure prepubescent girl only to be put in their place by other fanbases.

Being a veteran team has nothing to do with having something to lose come playoff time. None of the players on the grizzlies will have their careers defined by the playoffs. Their main core is Conley (26) and Gasol (29) both have more than just a few years left, this is not their last hurrah. Sure their season hasn't gone as expected but it's hard to do so when arguably your best player goes down for 2 months. This is their 2nd chance this season, the fact that they crawled into the playoffs after their bad start means something. They'd be fighting for HCA right now if it weren't for that. Then I'd agree that they'd have something to lose. But facing SAS in round 1 as the 8th seed? Nah, nothing to lose when nobody expects you to lose right away, when the team you're facing is expected to be representing the WC. The team that has something to lose is SA.

Don't generalize me, dude. I'm no homer, and to insinuate so is just ignorant, as you clearly don't read anything I write in regards to the Rockets. Would I pick Houston to make the WCF? Hell no. But the Rockets are a better basketball team than Golden State and they certainly have a better chance to make a deep playoff run than Golden State given their playoff matchups and the Warriors' potential loss of Bogut, which is the point I was making.

Also, to reiterate, I never ONCE brought up Houston in any of my posts in this game thread tonight. You were the one who felt the need to stir the pot. Don't play with a beehive and then blame the bees when you get stung.

6 game series? Hell yea.

As I said earlier, im no warriors fan.

sorry. mistakened you for one because the intelligence level and maturity level of your post matches theirs. want to see how mature your favorite fanbase is? http://forums.prosportsdaily.com/showthread.php?861689-4-13-NBA-GameThread/page7 they were so butthurt about their #fullsquad losing to portland that they decided to take out their frustration on the Houston fanbase by doing all they can to troll and bait the Houston fanbase. they got desperate when it became apparent that Houston fans weren't falling for their troll attempts that they resorted to picking on a Houston fan for a typo (seriously? a typo? that's the best they could come up with) while hyping up "psychology" as a good field to get a bachelor's in.

i hope that poster who was hyping up "psychology" isn't majoring in it because he's going to get a rude awakening after graduation when he realizes that he can't find a job.

But didn't you say it yourself that the Grizzlies beat San Antonio in 2011 and were in the WCF last year? This is not your typical 8th seed, and I kind of feel like you're contradicting yourself a bit here.

Bottom line, I think we can just agree to disagree. You think Memphis is a better matchup with San Antonio. I think it would have been Phoenix. But there's a good chance it'll be a moot point in a couple of days if Memphis beats Dallas and earns the 7th spot.

I'm not contradicting myself, I'm just saying exactly that, that Memphis is not your typical 8th seed.

Would they have something to lose had Marc not gotten hurt? Yea, I think it's fair to say that. Playing in the WCF one year definitely adds pressure for you to succeed the following year.

But given the current circumstances, I don't think they have anything to lose since they're not expected to do **** as the 8th seed. This can go down as the toughest series SAS has in the WC, assuming they make the Finals. The Gasol injury really ****ed over the Grizzlies, should they be given a pass like I am giving them? probably not. But do they really have anything to lose considering the circumstances? I honestly don't think so.

Like you said tho, We'll agree to disagree. We'll find out who's right once the 1st round is over. I do think the series will go 6 tho.

Your ignorance of the Houston area builds up like the injuries on Bogut's career resume or the amount of Californians moving from that state's ****** economy to come to Texas. First off, one does not "write" with a southern drawl. You speak with a drawl, you do not write with one. You could, but it would look quite silly, and I assure you that I haven't seen a single PSD poster ever write that way.

Secondly, you assume Houstonians all speak with a drawl, which is just a common misconception of the city. Houston is as much a melting pot as any other major city across the country. More people might speak with a southern accent than major cities not located in the South, but it's still not the norm for a major city. You have to get out into the suburbs before you really get a lot of thick southern accents.

I know him about as well as I know the next Rockets fan on PSD, but the man has his own opinions and I have mine. If I agree with his take on something, I'll state as much in that thread. If I disagree, I'll state that as well. I don't agree with every Rockets poster just for the sake of agreeing with them, because I'm not pathetic. I have a mind of my own, and I can make my own conclusions in a conversation without having to resort to following the nearest person who likes the same sports team that I do.

If I lumped all Warriors fans together and assumed all Golden State fans were like lol, please, you probably wouldn't appreciate that. Which is not to say that I would put FOB on that same pitiful pedestal as that guy. FOB actually has half a brain and makes intelligent points. I'm merely stating that not all fans of a team are the same person and they should not be treated as such. If you want to insult a poster, do it, but don't lump everyone into that same pathetic insult. It's sad and it requires no originality or thought.

I didn't major in psychology FoBOlous lol. You and mightybosttone can try and defend Houston all you want. But some of you Houston posters come off as disadvantaged.

What the **** does this even mean? It's the Internet. Half the people who post on PSD probably have an IQ lower than their age and pay less attention to logic, statistics and reason than to buzz words like "heart" and "desire." If you want to talk disadvantaged, don't single out Houstonians. Single out PSD posters in general. The average PSD poster shouldn't be debating sports on the Internet. They should be focused on coloring inside the lines in that Tom & Jerry coloring book their mothers bought them for their 22nd birthdays.

As for defending Houston, the city doesn't need defending. No major metropolitan area saw more population growth over the last year than Houston. The population's booming, the construction industry can't keep up with the massive need for new residential development and the economy's thriving. The revolution in natural gas seen across the U.S. thanks to fracking and horizontal drilling is on display in Houston, which I'd be willing to wager has more major oil and gas companies than any other city in the world.

If anything, I don't have to defend my city whatsoever. Perhaps you should be defending yours. How's that California economy and exponentially rising taxes treating you these days?

lol, please
04-15-2014, 02:48 AM
California is doing just fine thank you very much, here in the city we have first world problems that are minor, trivial things, like which teams playoff game to go watch because all of our teams are in the playoffs, now, can we stay on topic?

What does that have to do with the warriors playing the clippers without Bogut?

Sunsfan, didn't that piss you off seeing him smiling?

I'm not a huge fan of his man. Its a shame that Bledsoe is the one who gets the most national coverage and the one that's the most recognizable name on the Suns.

I don't hate him but some of the stuff he does is irritating. I have to admit that considering this was his first season as starter, he played fantastic. I hope he gets better.

But I would definitely not give him the max and if a team like the Lakers or something give him the max, I hope we aren't stupid enough to match it. Its not like we traded the farm to get Bledsoe...we traded Jared Dudley for him. I'm sure we can get Dudley back for a 2nd rd pick from the Clippers in the summer if we wanted to.

He has a high ceiling though so I don't know...his athleticism and potential is insane but some stuff he does and his body language show he's not locked into the game all the time.

Despite being older, I'd take Dragic over him 10 times out of 10.

I don't like the Grizz or their playing style. Their not physical, their dirty. Example of a physical team would be the Bulls. And you can say its cause I'm bitter but reality is I knew playoffs were over for us the minute we lost to Dallas on Saturday.

I got no respect for the Grizzlies. Memphis won't get away with all this kind of shoving and pushing against teams with superstars who the refs cater for.

04-15-2014, 10:02 AM
I totally disagree with the idea that Memphis has nothing to lose. They're a veteran squad that has been doing this for 4-5 years and will only get a few more miles out of this core before some major changes will have to take place. And they're coming off a Conference Finals appearance from last season. They most certainly have something to lose regardless of what their seeding is.

Being a veteran team has nothing to do with having something to lose come playoff time. None of the players on the grizzlies will have their careers defined by the playoffs. Just the fact that many people say sweep or 5 games max for the grizz is perfect for the underdog role the grizz enjoy. Nobody was talking about the grizz when they upset the spurs a few years ago, and nobody talked about them last year when they made a wcf appearance.

No one was talking about it, but I think the Grizz wanted that matchup, going so far to drop purposely to meet up with them. Their confidence was sky high and they had a certain attitude going into that series.

I dont know how that series will go if it happens. Memphis is not a typical 8 seed, and are only this low cause the injuries they sustained this season. Whoever they face it will be a battle. They are a handful
