A win tonight and we clinch the division, knock the Knicks off their chase for the 8th seed (never liked that team), and take 1 step closer to 50 wins on a season. Big game tonight. Go Raps!!!

I dont know about you guys, but I want the raps to be the team to put the nail in their coffin. Combined with the New York post article just ripping the bargnani trade, this win would just be the icing on the cake.

At the game tonight and found out they are selling game worn jerseys for $75. All the jerseys are a few years old and obscure players. Talking about Dupree, Banks, Barbosa, Turk, Gaines, Alabi, Wright, J.Johnson and others. Ended up grading a Rasho and Reggie Evans jerseys. Just awesome!

brutal effort, non existent at the power forward spot, and when a star like melo gets EVERY call imaginable, you're probably not going to win many games. that being said, they STILL had a chance to win this game in the fourth which has been our bread and butter all year.

this time of season is a HORRIBLE time to start going cold, but in the grand scheme of things, anything that happens in the playoffs is a much FARTHER feat than anything i could have possibly expected this season. again, hats off and these guys need to grow after this season.

Well that was a let down. Melo getting so many chincy foul calls was ********. In the eyes of the refs Melo doesn't turn the ball over & doesn't foul either. Amare just caught us by surprise and absolutely owned us. Amir has to play against Amare stronger than what we saw. Amare did whatever he wanted and I think they should have switched JV on him earlier. The raps should have also started doubling Melo in the 3rd quarter instead of waiting for so long. Again, a big SF is our Achilles heal. On this team we don't have a real SF and against larger SF's we're going to get owned.

How about JV absolutely killing Tyson Chandler out there. 21 boards was huge he was a beast out there bullying everybody. He played some solid defence too, he's really finishing this season strong and I wouldn't be surprised to see him get extended minutes in the playoffs. Wish the refs would have given him a little more respect earlier he was getting hand checked like crazy.

They can't win them all but that was an untimely loss especially that the Bulls won their game. If Masai could have just nailed DJA to the bench and not allowed Thibs make a run for the COY award. It seems Noah had found a partner in crime in DJA, their chemistry is exceptional.

Anyway, in the grand scheme of things Raps exceeded expectations. Congrats for winning the division. Another piece of cloth soon to be hanged up there.

Get use to it, if this team faces Nets in the first round the league is going to want their marquee players to advance (Pierce/KG) for better ratings.

Amare just caught us by surprise and absolutely owned us. Amir has to play against Amare stronger than what we saw. Amare did whatever he wanted and I think they should have switched JV on him earlier. The raps should have also started doubling Melo in the 3rd quarter instead of waiting for so long.

Amare overpowered Amir who didn't look in game shape, probably why he was not in to close the game.

Again, a big SF is our Achilles heal. On this team we don't have a real SF and against larger SF's we're going to get owned.

While I agree with the statement, Fields has defended Melo well in the past & saw no court time. My question is, Why?.

It's obvious, Ross is not strong enough in these type situations. Joe Johnson.

This is why I assume we go with the 2 PG lineup, unfortunately Casey insists on closing with Derozan whether the situation calls for it or not.

Put Lowry & Vasquez on court with Derozan, who's guarding Melo.

Unfortunately I think he will continue to close games with Demar going in Iso mode. They have won games this way but its going to catch up to them if they continue to play this way in the playoffs.

Last was very discouraging tho. They didn't move the ball much at all and when they did, they got open looks but weren't able to knock them down. Last yr there was a lot of talk about the motion offense but the players didn't fit the system. I think this team is very capable of playing that type of system considering they have players who can knock down threes.

Lowry has to be a ball dominant pg if this team is going to play at their optimal level consistently IMO.

Demar has the body to defend bigger SF Ross doesn't hopefully he works on this defense this off season. I think Ross can guard JJ it's Pierce that worries me. Jonas is the x-factor is we play the Nets.

Demar has the strength but he's not as good a perimeter defender so it negates the option pending on the matchup.

Problem with Brooklyn is their backcourt has a lot of combination length/skill Livingston/JJ/Peirce so it's pick your poison who to put your best perimeter defender on, if Pierce is not at the 4.

2nd problem is Casey likes to play small which allows the Nets to effectively use Pierce at the 4. IMO this is why Patterson was a huge factor in both wins against them. Until his acquisition, Raptors bench was small ball with Hansborough/Novak.

Recent article had Nets wanting the playoff matchup because of our tendency for small ball.

Me, I would have Ross' youth/athleticism on Pierce & adjust accordingly. Casey usually has Amir on JJ anyway at points of the game to better match his size.

IMO Like Miami, Raptors have to punish the paint against Brooklyn so they can't effectively use Pierce at the 4.

Unfortunately reason we have yet to beat Miami is because Raptors play small ball & I'm not referring to rotations alone, we are the only team that doesn't try to pound the paint, our offense is perimeter oriented.

Tune in to Heat games & watch Lebron lying on his back. Force him to defend the post/expend energy in physical play, it will take a toll on him offensively.

Nets have struggled against traditional front courts, like Detroit. 0-12 against teams that play big.

I know they're old and all but they're still 2/3 of the Big 3 plus JJ and DWill. That's a pretty formidable group of veterans for the inexperienced raptors to face in a first playoff experience.

No question. The whistle isn't going to be in the Raptors favour either.

Am I the only guy who wants the Raptors to have the hardest challenge in the playoffs they can?

In order to beat the best you need to see the best at their best.

Yes :).

There's no way around playing the best in ECF (Heat) and Finals (SA, OKC, or LAC)... so we might as well start a bit easier and build our confidence up.

I agree. Let's be realistic, we are not the best so having some success would not be a bad thing. Running into a veteran playoff team right away might only frustrate.
