Lots of good mentions by you guys in here. Let me put it all on one list by positions.

PG- Bledsoe/Westbrook/Rose/Wall/Jameer Nelson/Fisher/ Nate Robinson

SG- Wade/Desmond Mason/Terrance Williams/Tony Allen/Ben Gordon/Iggy

SF- Maggette/Lebron/Artest/Joey Graham

PF- Malone/Griffin/Faried/Thurmund/Ibaka

C- Young Shaq/D Howard/Big Ben/D Rob

If I had to rank a top 5 period.. it would be...

B Wallace
Young Shaq

I liked the top two or three selections, but there were some serious oversights, such as David Robinson. Nate Robinson and Andre Iguodala should also get a mention. Here's my all-jacked 15-man roster:

PG: Nate Robinson, Derek Fisher, Russell Westbrook
SG: Corey Maggette, Andre Iguodala, Tony Allen
SF: LeBron James, Ron Artest, Joey Graham
PF: Karl Malone, Blake Griffin, Serge Ibaka
C: Dwight Howard, Ben Wallace, David Robinson

Suggesting that Malone used roids is a HUGE trolling insult.

Firstly, Malone was 'huge' like you see in baseball players. He was strong and fit. His excessive work-outs in the summer are WELL documents. He put a TON of work into what he did, and had he used PEDs, he would have been ENORMOUS.

Also, he would have been far more injury prone. Given that he seldom missed any significant time with the exception of his final season (when he was in his 40's), it seems clear that he likely was not using PEDs given that he never had the kind of injuries that are linked with PEDs.

People look at a basketball player next to other basketball players, and these guys look huge in terms of muscle mass, but for the most part, they are actually VERY slender when you put them next to a body builder or even a baseball player.

The bulk and muscle mass doesn't really help players outside of the power forward and center position. Lean and strong is what is best for basketball.

You do know that's what steroids help you with.

Not saying Malone did them, just saying your point there only hurts your case.

And you would be absolutely wrong. Wilt at age 59 still could bench press more than Shaq ever could. (465 lbs). Ben Wallace for example could bench press 400 lbs. Wilt could bench press 525 lbs.

Using bench press to determine strength is one of the dumbest things anyone can do. A HUGE part of bench is related to arm length/shoulder width ratio etc. In other words leverage and angles. I guarantee you right now that Shaq is by far the strongest player the NBA has seen in terms of real world application+overall strength and hundreds of NBA players who have had to go against him would vouch for this. Shaq outweighed Wilt by probably 40-50 pounds prime vs prime. Wilt in his prime was about 290, Shaq was about 330-340+.

Yeah so weight proves that he was stronger lol? Yes, bench press and other strength related exercises prove that he was much stronger than any other player, do you know what strength is? He broke a toe of a player when he dunked the ball, he could pick up people with one hand like coffee cups. Just google Wilts strength and read some things.

there are so many accounts of Wilt's amazing feats of strength (other players being "dunked" with the ball by wilt, others being lift up like dolls...) and yet none of them are on tape...
people tend to exaggerate the greatness of their era

Anyone think LeBron's weight loss also came with a loss in strength? Will it affect his game?

HoopKing
08-10-2014, 04:26 AM
I think it hurts his post game, he was mainly more effective these past 2 years in the post because of the strength and size advantage he had over opponents, not because of the skill.

Clippersfan86
08-10-2014, 04:35 AM

I was just throwing that out there because in real world application, size greatly correlates with strength or at the very least maximum force. Shaq was stronger based on the footage we have of both players. With Wilt we have a bunch of tall tales about him flinging mountain lions with one hand and dumb sh** like that.
