Rox and Pellies too.

You would rather see the boring Horford-less Hawks make the playoffs and get swept in the first rd by the champs?

Give me Heat-Knicks anyday!

But too bad the Knicks choked in their last game. That was essentially the nail in the coffin on their season.

Melo is gone this summer.

If we weren't getting either Denver or NYK's pick, I'd MUCH rather see the Knicks make the playoffs. But right now, them making the playoffs is the difference between us getting probably the 11th or 12th pick and getting the 15th pick. So, GO HEAT and GO HAWKS!

Knicks lucky to still be in this game. Doing just enough on the glass, from three and not turning it over to keep it close, but they can't buy buckets.

Dude broke a lot of records today...all of them were 3 point fg/made related.

The guy also jacked up multiple 3's early in the shock clock and also shot multiple 3's while he was well defended and unbalanced. He was wasn't trying to win, he was trying to get personal stats for himself. He rarely attacked the basket. The shots that was considered 2 pointers was 3's with his foot on the line.

zn23
04-06-2014, 07:14 PM
lol Pacers getting blown out at home by the Hawks... This has to be the most epic collapse in recent memory.

Stephenson is a very low IQ player. Who relies on his athleticism.

Evan Turner is the worst acquisition of the year. I said it before, the front office abandoned Advanced Metrics and looked at his raw stats. Otherwise why would you take him? He had a low PER, low WS/48, played on a garbage team. This is a hard lesson that you can't do that. Advanced Metrics tell you the story.

Paul George has fallen hard.

archdevil84

ManRam
04-06-2014, 07:17 PM
Today I think all but locks up the 1st and 8th seeds. Big day. Magic will almost certainly get a lottery pick out of the Knicks and Nuggets' woes.

All 4 teams involved in the Dwight trade are missing the playoffs. The difference: only Orlando expected to be here. Not sure we won the trade, but we certainly weren't the biggest losers. Tho, presently I'm REALLY hyped that the Knicks aren't squeaking in and we get probably the 11th or 12th pick

Hawkeye15

it was ridiculous. "Pacers now the front runners to win the title" type crap.

Turner sucks. Always has. His defensive awareness is Harden-like, and he can't shoot.

zn23
04-06-2014, 07:22 PM
its funny that most people said that when indy traded for evan turner it was the best deal of the year. not so much anymore...

That's because most people were as clueless as the Pacers front office. All they saw was 17.5 ppg, 3.7 ast. 6.0 reb. Without looking deeper into it. Without looking at his PER which was an abysmal 13.2, OWS: -0.2, WS/48: 0.018. Those are UGLY numbers when you look deeper.

The Pacers had no reason to go after him, absolutely none whatsoever. He played on a garbage team, putting up garbage numbers. He can't play defense. He can't shoot very well. Can't play make . So why take him? He was a terrible starter, it's not like he was going to become a better bench player.

ManRam

I just went back to make sure I wasn't losing my mind, but I was pretty outspoken in defending Miami for NOT trading for ET.

Indy made some desperate (albeit, gave up nothing) moves. Can't pin this, or even much of this, on those moves, but my god they've crumbled....and A TON of this looks mental and between the ears.

This is more than just a bad slump. I felt up until this game that they could flip the switch...they've stepped it up a good deal the last two years in the playoffs... but I'm not quite sure.

on top of that, granger was probably one of their biggest locker room guys, without him the team chemistry has taken a big step backwards i think. not a good trade AT ALL! there was nothing wrong with the pacers even if granger wasnt scoring much

Wow.... What a second quarter by the Rockets after that mediocre first. They outscored Denver 47-25 and were just totally dismantling them those last couple of minutes. Speaking of blowouts, Indiana should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. It's one thing to lose a trap game like this on the road against a mediocre team, but a complete blowout at home to a sub-.500 team is inexcusable. And then consider that this Atlanta team could very well be the team they face in the first round. That's just embarrassing.

I like their chances in the second round against Toronto or Washingon, but if they get Chicago? That would be a nightmare for the Pacers. I might actually pick the Bulls to win a 7-game series against Indiana if you put a gun to my head right now. I have that little confidence in the Pacers and that much respect for the Bulls. Thibodeau would outcoach Vogel right out the arena.

As mediocre as the East has been this season, I would LOVE to see Miami/Brooklyn and Indiana/Chicago in the second round. Those series would be insanely interesting, and both are going at least six games.

Bring The Heat
04-06-2014, 09:09 PM
Yeah I agree Indiana would not like to see Chicago in the 2nd round... You can argue Chicago frontcourt is stronger with obviously Noah >>> Hibbert.... Pacers have better perimeter players so Paul George would have to play at a high level.

Honestly, I just don't see the East catching up any time soon.

The Lakers are basically done already, Dallas is on it's last Dirk legs, and the Spurs might be near done in the next few years, but look at the teams coming down the pipe.

Clippers, Rockets, GSW, Phoenix, Thunder, Portland... those are ALL young teams. The oldest teams in that group are the Clippers and OKC. 1 legit contender, 3 x 2nd tier contenders, and 2 young upstarts in Portland and Phoenix?

The West isn't going anywhere.

I can't see any way the East catches up in the next 5 years unless management gets itchy trigger fingers and decides to dismantle some of them.

Against the Jazz....

Does it matter? Nobody else in the league has done that in 35 years, against the Jazz, Bucks or anyone else for that matter.

Was it against an easy competitor? Sure. Does that take away from the accomplishment? Not really. I mean if it was an easy thing to do, someone else would have done it before now.

Magic, Stockton, Jordan, CP3, Harden, name whoever you want, nobody has put up those numbers in 30 minutes against ANY team in the last 35 years, and all of those guys (plus many other great talents) have played worse teams than Utah.

Not saying it's going down as some crazy legacy or something, just saying it's pretty cool and a nice accomplishment. A lot of guys couldn't get those numbers in 48 minutes never mind 30.

Maybe because we beat them rightfully so?

If only Ray MaCollum drove to the rim for the wide open layup or took the open pull up jumper instead of running a terrible play for Cousins...

Why didn't they schedule any games for today? Kinda weird. Is April 7th a special day or something?
