I know it's obvious but I love the VC USA dunk. That just lit me up as a kid and I love the look of disbelief on KGs face while it's happening.

So crazy.. I wonder if Vince surprised himself when he did that.

VC in Olympics is #1. After that I got KJ over Hakeem.

Does anyone else thing that guys have kinda quit dunking on bigs in the paint here? Remember KJ on Olajuwon, Pippen on the Knicks frontcourt, starks on Horace and Jordan, Kemp on lots of guys, Jordan on lots of guys, Shaq on lots of guys, Ewing on lots of guys. It seemed everyone was challenging and everyone was going to the rim to try to throw down on that challenge.

Sure Blake Griffin does that quite a bit, and maybe it is just nostalgia, but when I think of the great dunkers outside of Griffin today, there aren't the challenging ones.

I think part of it is guys are not contesting them at all. Everyone just gets out of the way most of the time.

because it's easier to just flop and get a foul now... why dunk it on someone when you can jump stop...pump fake pump fake go up - foul.

plus that whole having pride in yourself or trying to out-man the opponent is a lost art.

Obviously.

Agreed. Weis is a 7 footer, and given the stage and audience there really isn't a dunk that was as memorable or widely watched as the VC Olympic dunk.

You *KNOW* you did something special when an entire COUNTRY calls the dunk, "le dunk de la mort", or the "Dunk of Death".

Sure, there might be dunks that are more spectacular in a technical sense, but the VC dunk stands on its own for SO many reasons...

Everyone is saying Vince Carter at the olympics, and while I agree you cannot deny that this one is pretty great for the assist alone:

VC's was no doubt better, but PG has to have some serious cojones to attempt that in a game.

Too bad both of those were not fully extended beauty dunks like Vince spoiled us with. If there was never a Vince Carter we'd be looking at two of the greatest dunks ever..but he did those 360s and windmills but fully extended and stronger.

Love that fancy dunks are somewhat coming back though. They really disappeared recently

Agreed. I just wanted to add some stuff to the conversation other than VC.
