Now this is something I am not looking forward to but knew it was coming.

It's really not that big of a deal, just like the giant CHASE under Madison Square Garden on the playing floor. You won't even notice it after a few games.

I don't mind. This'll help small markets get more money. This is good for small markets.

Genius. Should've happened a long time ago.

I don't have a problem with it.

If it helps teams earn more money that they can use to make the league more competitive I'm all for it. I'm not a fan of a small market team, but even I can see that strong small markets are good for the NBA.

I personally don't like seeing small teams unable to field good teams year after year because the purse strings are so tight.

I wonder how much it will affect jersey sales.

I wonder how much it will affect jersey sales.

Ask the football (soccer) fans. Ask the golf fans.

Lots of sports have ads on their jerseys. Whether it's a Nike swish or something more visible, people still support their teams. In the end, are you going to pass on that Lebron/KD/Melo jersey just because there's an logo on it? Or are you going to support your team?

Purists are going to complain, but in the end the vast majority will suck it up and buy the jersey.

Only thing I'm worried about now is how will this play on CBA negotiations? You know since the players are going to be walking billboards, they are going to want a cut of it.

I'm assuming those won't have ads of them

I bet this wasn't discussed in the CBA.

If these guys are advertising and giving money, I hope they don't have influence... (We have to trade this guy, our sponsors don't like the image he is giving off)

american sports catching up with the rest of the world.

in 10 years Nba/nfl/mlb and Nhl will all have adds in their jerseys.

Just like everywhere else.

Wonder if it will eventually taint the ncaa too.

As long as the LOng sleeved jersey b.s is not impossed im ok with it.

It doesnt look that bad, you barely notice the ad in a basket jersey

examples.

I wonder if any of the teams decide not to have a shirt sponsor like Barca did for ages.

Even Athletic Bilbao has fallen for it eventually.
The odds are not good.

I can't imagine any small market teams holding out at all and when the big market teams see how much companies would be willing to pay to have their logo on their jersey I'm sure they'd be all for it also.
