My friend and I are arguing over this.

Aren't teams not allowed to call consecutive timeouts during a basketball game?

I believe that teams can call a time out before a sideline play and then another during the inbound if a play doesn't work, but they cannot call a third.

This came up bc I was watching a game earlier and at the end of the game, a team called a TO before trying to inbound. Afterwards, they couldn't so they called a TO. After that though, they cannot use another TO correct?

Any info or links would be helpful. I know, this is random lol

NFL you can't.
I thought in the NBA you can. I've seen teams try taking the ball out and be forced to call back to back time outs.

off the leg of the defender. Easy fix. Plus, in the end of the game aren't there only 2 timeouts anyway?

As long as you have a TO you can use it.

Pretty sure you can. I've seen teams call timeout, then call another to advance the ball to half court.

It happened last night at the end of the Clippers-Suns game. Timeout was called by Doc, Clips had only two seconds to advance the ball so they called another to take the ball out part mid-court
