Would be awesome if the opposing team let him make a shot. All it would take is less than a minute, but it would make this kid's life. Props to the 76ers. Classy move.

Damn Philly taking tanking to a whole new level.

Just kidding. This is a great gesture, and I actually saw videos of this kidding hitting 4 threes in less than 2 mins earlier today.

It's a good story. Great moment for the kid. It's a 2-day "ceremonial contract." He got to practice with the team today and hang with the players and coaches, tour the organization, things like that. Tomorrow he gets to do pregame warm ups with the team.

Hell put him in tomorrow haha. We could use him. His jumper is actually pretty nice I hear. As long as he's not too good. We need to preserve the tank.

All people with disabilities want is to be treated as equals...that includes basic human rights, such as being signed to an NBA squad at 14 years old.

Nice gesture. In a sports world full of stories that make you cringe, it's good to see a heart warming one.

This is great. He'd probably be a top 10 pick in this past draft.

Kudos to you Philly, this is an awesome thing to do.

Instantly becomes teams best player.

In all seriousness though, good for both parties. As a teacher it baffles me how rude and obnoxious not only youth, but adults as well, can be to people with any sort of exceptationality.

lol, "well there is an age limit". There's also no such thing as a 2-day contract and you can't just sign someone who was never available for selection in a draft. It's almost enough to make you wonder if this 18 year old with Down Syndrome isn't actually signing a real NBA contract. 'Almost' apparently being the key word.

Y'all know Batkid wasn't actually a real superhero, right?

Lol the thread title is a little misleading but that's actually pretty damn cool! That kid is lights out and would easily be our best 3 point shooter.

Inb4 the game being unfair because he has an EXTRA chromosome. Players will go to biogenesis just to achieve that extra chromosome. Scandals everywhere

Really great move by the Sixers. They even can't imagine what they give to this boy:unlimited happiness. If the Nba allows him to play,it will be a relative small feat, but a great moment in the light side of humanity.
I'm not exaggerating, knowing the matter well,I'm sure that they'll give a sort of eternal happiness to this boy.

Congratulation to the Sixers.

That is awesome. Good for this kid. Classy move by the 76ers. It's just that easy to make a kid feel incredible with a disease or terminal illness. Other teams should take notice.

was at the game tonight it was awesome to see how happy and excited he was to be there. he was introduced as the sixth man after the starters and got run out of the tunnel and be in the middle of the huddle prior to the tip. was honored with his team on the court and was out there with our flight squad tossing shirts in the stands and the crowd even gave some Put Kevin In and We Want Kevin chants in the 4th.
