He needs to put on weight but he's a sophmore. That kid will be special. What a sick name as well lol.

barring injury, that kid is so far ahead of the curve for a player his size its crazy. Easily the most skilled 16 year old 7 footer I have ever seen. What 7 foot 9-10th grader can hit step backs like they are nothing?

I usually laugh at these stupid highlight videos, but that kid is obviously going to be an NBA talent unless his body doesn't hold up.

Came across this guy recently when checking out the next crop of Aussies. Australia will have quite a few high picks over the next 5 years.

Other Aussies to look out for are Ben Simmons and Jonah Bolden.

Exactly what I said on twitter today.

First time I've seen a high school kid and actually thougt "can't miss talent" barring injury of course.

Lol wtf that's like watching a 7 foot kyrie Irving but with Ben Wallace's defense. But it's a 16 yr old over 7 footer!? Hopefully he continues to work on his game and doesn't get complacent from dominating at his level. Crazy skills for that size and age.

I really hope whichever team drafts him doesn't try and tinker with his game by trying to have play more of an 'inside game' considering his height and length.

unless he keeps growing or gets hurt and slows down, he looks to me more like a Durant type, but even longer.

He looks like a KG-Durant hybrid. Wow. I've seen his videos even back in 8th grade...the kid has improved by leaps and bounds.

Holy ****. I never comment on threads like these because the hype is generally so far from the reality, but I would LOVE to see a full game of this kid. That size+skillset at that age - or any age - is off the charts. I hope he has great role models around him and can keep it up, because that guy will be fun to watch going forward.

28 second mark - already channeling KD.

Holy **** an even taller KD and he can grow even more :O I hate these threads but wow, this kid needs to bulk and bamm. hes frigging 15-16 ffs

I've known about him since he was in seventh grade, but damn he has improved! I always thought he'd be super tall and be like manute Bol. Clearly, he has drastically improved skill set and has grown into his body. Now I say he's a mixture of kg and durant. A more accurate comparison is a playing style similar to andray blatche (although with much better skills and work ethic) his nba career should be as a face up 4 man with ability to post up

Is it normal to be that tall? Like, he could die right?

Hope Raptors draft him and Canada naturalizes this guy. He's up for grabs internationally because he rejected Australia a bunch of times when the asked him...Australia is getting the shaft from all their players first Irving now him.

Its a highlight video so you don't know how efficient he really is, but some of his moves were pretty skillful. A taller KG lookalike.

Don't usually like to judge a player alone on a highlight video but I'm at aww with his size and skill set shown in the video. His step back jumpers already look very damn good.

And man what a name too! Thon Maker. Very badass. Talent AND the name. Great combination.

wow!...amazing skills for a kid that tall.

Can't wait til he dominates the league and commentators start saying "meet your maker" whenever he blocks shots

This kid has Phenom written all over him, very impressive highlight tape. Looks like a 7ft KG/KD hybrid...

He's very big for his age so I hope his body holds up for the long haul, if it does....a new monster might be upon us when LBJ starts to slow down (no joke)........

I'm copying everyone but I seriously don't go o **** when I watch high school talent even back with guys like drose/Blake/kyrie/melo but damn this dude is going to be special

lol, please

He might be the truth, but I will never hype someone until I see them play in the pros. I will keep an eye on this kid no doubt, although I wish people wouldn't hate on the big man inside philosophy, especially if the C he plays with is smaller than him.

what about if he has a KD type freshman year in college at a major school?

As stated before, I tend to hate highlight videos, and judging a player, but the fact is, at that height and age, his skillset is better than I have seen. If his body holds up, I can't see how he isn't going to be in the NBA and be a good player.
