Durant is definitely the MVP.

Tyson Chandler just doesn't seem like a good fit for the Knicks anymore.

5-10 now from the line. I have seen hundreds of Durant games in my life. He has never once been 5-10. So weird. I wish Melo would get a shooting battle going already. These two could put on a serious show in the garden.

The Knicks keep throwing the most hilarious defenders on KD. JR, Amare, Felton...what the hell are they doing?

I remember that thread where people were saying that Melo > KD on offense.

Melo is great offensively, but KD is on another level.

Outside of the ho-hum monstrosity that has become KD that was one of the better all around games from the OKC starters. Bench sucked but they did not need it. Melo just got a lil' ran through on his home turf..

Yea, I can definitely see it. We got too many injuries anyway, plus I believe kobe is out the rest of the year IMO, even if he comes back he won't be 100% and I doubt we see a top 10 player anymore at this age.

If we trade Pau it's a wrap. Nash just got hurt again too, we won't have any depth. We'll be at 8 players for the rest of the year :laugh2:

I don't know why you're so worried. Look at your roster. Look at your second half SOS. Do some math, and then realize that a bottom 3-4 record is assured.

Agreed. I think it's speaks volumes about your franchise when your purposely losing games.

It's one thing for the fans to want them to suck and the players losing because their not talented enough to win and a whole another thing to purposely shave points and not try to get a good pick.

I don't think the 76ers are intentionally trying to lose every individual game they play. They just suck. I still am not mad at that front office for realizing all the had a shot at was mediocrity at best and deciding to blow it up. MCW and Noel are nice pieces going forward, as are their two picks this year. Deal with it...it's for the better in the long run, and that's what matters.

sunsfan88
02-10-2014, 12:35 AM
I'm not mad at the FO for blowing it up either but I think it's pathetic when you tell your players to purposely go and lose the game.

Look at the Lakers for example. They don't try to lose games as their game plan...they try to win but they just come short of doing so cause of lack of talent.

Even the Lakers haven't lost by 50 to the Clippers...and the 76ers have as much talent or more than the Lakers.

Do you have any proof they're doing that tho?

I mean, we say "tank" all the time like these players are, again, trying to lose individual games. But I don't ever buy that. Philly is just genuinely awful. These are professional athletes here with a lot at stake. Some guys are playing for contracts. Some guys are fighting to stay in the league. Some are trying to establish themselves. Some, like Moultrie, are trying to prove to their coach that they're worth playing. They have a rookie coach who has no incentive to be purposefully losing games, at all.

Look at that bench...would you be surprised if none of them (maybe Moultrie excluded) aren't in the league a few years from now? They don't have a single guy with a PER north of 18. They don't have a single player with a FG% over 50%. Spencer Haws is by far their best 3 point shooter :laugh2:

They're having a brutal game, it happens. But the team is awful...and young.

It's a bad team, and these types of teams exist almost every year. I can't sit here and say they're intentionally losing games. I could genuinely believe that they're trying as hard as they are and are this bad. Well..not THIS bad, but sometimes you get destroyed early on and you lose your confidence or desire to compete. They just couldn't hit a shot to start the game, and LAC was hitting them all. Then it spiraled. They are the least talented team in the league, even more so than Milwaukee in my opinion. It's gonna be ugly at times.

You don't need proof. They were the last team to hire a coach and it was near the start of the season when he was hired. They knew this season was going to be a tanking season.

Clippersfan86
02-10-2014, 12:59 AM
Clippers may be the best offense of all time next to the Suns in the coming years. They consistently score 115 plus with starters out all year. 123 without Redick and with Paul and Griffin playing like 23 minutes.

I'm not saying the front office is fine losing games. Of course they are. They're looking towards the future and winning this year is not a priority. I don't see why this point is so hard to digest.

I'm saying the coach and the players aren't intentionally trying to lose individual games on their own. I just refuse to believe that these professional athletes, many of whom have a lot at stake, would intentionally play bad basketball in an effort to lose. Or that a rookie coach trying to make a name for himself...or even just last/be able to ever get another head coaching job...would do the same.

It's the least talented team in the league. That doesn't mean every game they lost is because they tried to lose that game. It just means they suck.

"Tanking" is a season-long thing. It's the result of a front office not prioritizing winning (or in some cases an incompetent front office trying but just failing). I don't think "tanking" when it comes to individual games happens frequently at all. Maybe a few games late in the season when guys are getting benched...but not now. I've watched every Orlando game. These players aren't trying to lose, they're just out-matched. I've watched plenty of Lakers games. It's obviously the same. Look how competitive Boston has been for chunks of the season. Utah is turning it around a bit now that they're healthy and the young guys are getting better. These teams aren't trying to lose individual games. I refuse to believe that. Maybe I'm naive, but I doubt it.

Asik's better
02-10-2014, 05:13 AM
If you think brett brown is telling his players to purposely loose then you don't know brett brown. As someone who has seen him coach both in the nbl and the Australian team, I know he would be aboustly fuming after tonight's effort. He is a competitor and want to win every match no matter want the front office thinks. I wouldn't be suprised if brett brown had every player run suicides nonstop until their next game after tonight's effort.

I'd like to see some evidence of this. Brown must be a great actor cause he sure was flipping a **** the entire game.

The way tanking works is a GM intentionally constructs a roster to be as weak and preferably young as possible. But telling your coach to instruct his players to lose and play poorly isn't part of the deal. Brown is a freaking intense guy. I've seen the practice footage, I've seen how angry he gets during games. He doesn't like losing...or he's an AMAZING actor.

Anyone who thinks the Sixers FO, or any other team's FO, is telling their coaches and players to intentionally lose games is an absolute moron.
