View Full Version : Lakers down to just five players, Sacre in the game despite being fouled out

Well, this is a new one.

The Los Angeles Lakers entered Wednesday night's game with just eight healthy players. After Nick Young and Jordan Farmar left with injuries and Chris Kaman fouled out, the Lakers were down to just five. Then Robert Sacre also piled up six fouls, but was allowed to stay in the game with every subsequent foul counting as a tech.

The best part? They STILL beat the Cavs 119-108.http://beta.thescore.com/nba/news/425848

It should say the worst part was them winning. That is so dumb. They had the same record as the Cavs but fell a game in front now.

I cant decide what's crazier between Sacre fouling out and staying in, Blake getting a triple double with 15 assists or Ryan Kelly and CJ Miles being the respective leading scorers...

I thought if you foul out and run out of players you are just left with 4 or however many players depending on how many foul out?

So dumb, we should've been forced to forfeit. Now the cavs have an important game on us in the tank race.

Brown totally out coached D'antoni by pulling Irving. That's how you tank a game

we should of lost, ****ing cavs stink so bad.

last 2 games and 4 guys have left with injuries...blake, hill, young, farmar

What if farmar, nash and blake would have been still injured?

Hell, anyone can beat the Cavs. D'Antoni sucks. Put Kobe at 3/4 strength against them by himself and LA would win.

Its amazing people actually thought Mike Brown could coach. He literally burns every team he coaches to the ground. He couldn't beat a 5 man laker squad of Steve Blake, Wesley Johnson, Robert Sacre, Kendall Marshall and Ryan Kelly?

I don't get this either. The Cavs seemed in such a hurry to resign him even after they were in such a hurry to let him go a few years earlier.

They could have hired ANY other coach. Byron Scott, Avery Johnson, Stan Van Gundy, ANYBODY ELSE! But no...Mike Brown.

How awesome would it have been to see a box score with someone having 8 or 9 fouls.

02-06-2014, 12:34 AM
Didn't that happen to GSW a few years ago? Only, iirc, they would tack on the foul to said player for the next game...

Dope win, wouldn't have believed if I didn't see it!

And Cavs should be ashamed of their damn selves. I would put everyone on the trading block except Kyrie and Deng.

I was about to type why would punish a team so banged up by having the fouled out player get a T with each foul? I was thinking hasn't that poor team suffered enough? I'm sure they're getting killed...then heyo! They won :laugh2:

On a side note that bear hugging players on the fast break like they did Swaggy P is lame. You're down like 20 dude just try to block the damn shot, if you foul you foul...

Does anyone else find the NBA unwatchable now??

The tanking, flopping, complaining, and lop sided super teams are just too much

Compared to the NFL, the NBA is unwatchable

Knowing the Cavs, they'd probably find some way to screw the pick up even if they somehow got #1 again. If it ain't blatantly obvious (Lebron, Kyrie) they'll find a way to mess it up.

I am confused too. This squad is literally a D-league team.
Another question ,why didnt Uncle Drew have a monster game but a mediocre game ?He is the starting All star of the East Conference

i wonder what would have happened if one of the lakers players would have picked up a flagrant 2 or 2 techs... this is a crazy situation

KingPosey
02-06-2014, 11:09 AM
So is this only if you only have 5 players and one fouls out? Because if I was say the Heat, I'd always just keep Lebron in and eat the one tech maybe two he'd get(not that LBJ ever gets enough fouls called against him to foul out)

Otherwise it seems like you get a gift for the in spite of the front office and staff making a really stupid decision before hand. It just doesn't make any sense.

Rule only applies when the team has 4 qualified players. The last person to get the 6th can still play. If there are eligible players on the bench then they cannot continue.
