I'm watching this Lakers and Cavs game and I'm just shaking my head at how the fans could have overrated Kyrie Irving and basically given him the starting spot... Easily the most overrated player in the league. Can't play any defense, fires up bad shots he also seems to have some trouble creating his shot he can't get by the Lakers defense.

Also these guys doing the commentary for the Cavs are probably the worst I've heard so far.

I used to think Kyrie was going to give CP3 a challenge as the best PG in the game. Now I don't even think he'll be a top 5 PG. He has been overrated. Last year a lot of ppl were all over his nuts (I was), now he just seems like a ballhog, really don't like his game anymore, at all.

Kyrie was really good for a rookie, and his projections were that of an amazing player. He really hasn't improved at all in his 3 years.

I hope the Lakers aren't dumb enough to offer the Cavs a top 5 pick for him if they happen to have it. Kyrie has really fell off the cliff.

The only reason...ok two reasons is for him starting in the East is because most of the East point guards suck and because of those Uncle Drew commercials making him popular. Mike Brown has really hurt his career too.

No one cares but whatever...

The Magic got killed by the Pistons recently without Vucevic. That forced us to start Glen Davis and Jason Maxiell against Drummond and Monroe. Obviously, it went miserably. With Vucevic it allows us to bump Davis to the 4, where he's at least competent; Dipo to the bench, where he's a bit better and helps our bench not actually totally suck; and Maxiell out of the rotation. It's still obviously a thin and terribly young/inexperienced roster, but I think when fully healthy we aren't at all the 2nd worst team in the NBA. Overreacting? Probably. But holy hell, the pieces look good and fit real nice tonight.

Meanwhile, Mike Brown is still not an unemployment statistic. Somehow...

A great game between Houston and Phoenix, but the Rockets' starters have pretty much dominated the Suns starters all game long. If it wasn't for the abysmal play, especially on defense, of the bench, this would not be a basketball game at all. Houston's pulling away in the fourth, though. They needed this one.

PJ Tucker has given Harden more problems than possibly any other perimeter defender I've seen this season. But Houston has done a good job getting Harden open on screens and he's taken it right to the rim. Normally I'd admit if Harden drew a foul or two that wasn't deserved, but tonight really hasn't been one of those nights.

Dwight has been the impressive one, tonight, though. He had a monster game in the paint, and was 5/6 in Hack a Dwight situations down the stretch. They're +24 tonight with him on the floor, and it's clear how much better a basketball team they are when he's playing this well.

4-16 against the Knicks D from our favorite PF in the MVP convo.

Impressive game from the Wolves to keep it pretty close in OKC without Love tonight (couldn't believe he was listed as 'probable' earlier today after that hit he took). KD with the 26/9/7 along with Reggie Jackson playing like a stud were a little too much tho. KD only shot 1 FT too, weird. Their whole team had as many as Rubio.

I love the way Lebron is playing in this one, like the win actually means something. His passes are crisp fastballs, he's chasing down offensive players for blocks and racing after loose balls. I hope this intensity continues, because when he plays like this, he's the undisputed best player in the world.

yeh but he shot 52% from 2PT range, 39% from 3PT, but WTF happened to him. This year he's 36% from 3PT.

horrible PnR D there.

those past 3 sequences are why the Clips need CP3

The SnR D was horrendous. Collison showed and never moved, the offensive possession was even worse. Then the last screen LeBron just splits w/ no contact.

Slug3
02-06-2014, 02:20 AM
What do you expect Wade to do? They haven't used him for 5 minutes and then pass him the ball with 5 seconds on the clock. How does Miami go from looking like they did in the first quarter to a team that does not pass the ball? This is what happened in the OKC game.

KniCks4LiFe

True, which probably would have ended up with an Allen 3 anyway. Lol

exactly, only w/ the post and wingspan of Crawford and Barnes and Jordan, you could turn that ball over on a kick out. The SnR set frees up the man and spaces out the floor.

What a phenomenal game. The Heat were the better team, but they played some really sloppy basketball in that final quarter. And I'm just more and more impressed every time I watch Blake play this season. There's obviously things I'd like to see him improve on, but he's come such a long way from the player I saw last year.

Both of these teams needs to shore up some the mistakes we saw tonight, but both teams are insanely talented and could feasibly make the finals by playing their best basketball at the right time.

well the thing is he stinks at shooting 3's, but is like 53% on 2's. So stop shooting 3's it ain't working. His shot charts show he's around leave average to above from 16-24 ft. away. So stay in that range, gain a rhythm, WTF is he trying to go 28 ft. for?

I honestly never thought he would be this good. I thought over his career he'd develop the jumper and FT he has now but I never thought he'd be so aggressive. He didn't seem to have "it". He has it now. I loved the way he wanted to go at LeBron at both ends. It was hard to tell who the better player was tonight. I think he's in the conversation for best of the rest after LeBron and Durant.

The way he's playing now he is much better suited to carry a playoff team so to not dodge the question I'll say yes. I definitely want to see this Blake in the playoffs before I would actually call him a better player.

Guarding literally every position lol..

That was a beautiful thing to watch.

And he just hasn't shown that consistency this season so I understand the whole "kd has a shot of being the best in the game"

But sorry, if both are healthy and motivated, lebron is the best in the game. And it's mainly due to his versatility in his defense. Absolutely beautiful to watch.
