i don't see it as dunk of the year but definitely a candidate for top 5 of the year. Just the way Faried was flying out of place BUT I will give the dunk to Ross who cocked back and outlasted Faried in the air.

meh. not dunking on someone just ruins it. 360 is nice but he didn't have Vince Carter oomph to to. kinda soft if you ask me plus they were winning by 20 points.

I misread the title of the link- I saw Terrence Ross creams all over Kenneth Faried.

I was terrified to watch.

Dunk of the year in my opinion, Faried was right pumped at the moment because he just had a huge block on Amir then Ross made him his *****.

K-Marts dunk being better is hilarious, come on people. PG was nice but a open court dunk in a blow out, not the same, lots of guys could do what PG did but just chose not to showboat in games.

It was a nice dunk but def not dunk of the year (OP didn't say poster of the year but I I'd need to see others to determine that. Close though).

amazing! but why is it every time someone posts a nasty dun the majority of people just put it down in some way?

Micro flaccid syndrome, gives them lots of insecurities.

Well,an open dunk(unless it's something of ASG kind, like George one) is far less impressive than a poster on a 6 foot 8 guy with crazy athletic ability.

is it wrong for me to say he reminds me of Vince?

His off the dribble pull up, the first step, his agility, passing skill, defense, the only thing is that Vince was a bit better in the post, but he's young. Anyone else agree or see him more as T-Mac b/c I heard those comparisons too.

Because it isn't "check out this amazing dunk" it's "dunk of the year!" which is a very specific title that only one dunk can hold, so people are going to discuss whether this dunk is really it or not. Notice nobody has said it was bad or actually put it down, they've just said other dunks are better - which is a totally legit response when the thread title literally means "no dunks this year have been better than this".

Over someone like Faried it's more impressive I guess (even though there's really not much Faried can do, especially without fouling, and Ross is ridiculously athletic himself), but when you've got people freaking out when someone dunks on someone far shorter and less athletic than the person dunking (DeAndre Jordan over Brandon Knight for example), it's a joke. People act like it's somehow super embarrassing that someone like Knight lets Jordan dunk on him or that a backtracking Faried lets another crazy athletic player with a full head of steam dunk on him one-on-one. Most of the time the player being dunked on is doing what they should be doing, trying to draw a charge, and they get ripped by people for it.

Was this dunk a great display of athleticism? Yes. But, give me a creative or technically difficult dunk over someone just dunking on someone any day. This is part of why the dunk contests suck. Fans get too hyped over dunks that take no creativity or technique so players rarely get creative and we don't see great dunks much at all anymore.

Yeah, because it makes it way harder. You have to power through someone.

it was an awesome dunk but the cherry on top would have been if the players were going head on instead of crossing each other.

His athletic ability reminds me of Vince and that's about it. Terrence Ross has little to no passing skill. He just makes easy passes around the 3pt line and the occasional low risk entry pass. He does have a quick first step but makes bad decisions on where to go when dribbling the ball and routinely picks up his dribble and/or dishes it out.

He has gotten a lot better on defence this year. Still needs to work on his habit of biting on pump fakes but he's gotten a lot better. He's got a great 3pt shot too.

I think he can improve passing wise. But he damn near has VC's pull up jumper down. His post feed right now really doesn't matter, plus Jonas isn't the type of big VC had to deal w/ playing w/ on the same unit. I can see the biting on pump fakes, he also has troubles w/ the screens. But one on one forcing you to stop he is improving there.

I will say he has been very impressive as of late making great decisions out of pick and rolls. His bounce pass for pick and pops and pick and rolls are as good or better than anyone else on our team not named Lowry or Vasquez. Just IMO though.

Terrence ross could be the next VC with better defense if he could

1. pass bettter
2. drive in more
3. create his own shot.

that's because the photo is a little bit of a mis-representation of it. whoever took it pretty much nailed the only moment where the two were in alignment with each other.

Yeah I get that. Ross angled his dunk to avoid the shot blocking. But still it's so sexy!

What I really would like to see is an NBA Phantom video of it.

but you can't possibly tell me Terrence Ross actually dunked that ball without watching the video from this angle. He looks way too far from the basket to dunk it home and he has to go around (which is what eventually happened) Faried.

no that's just it. this pic makes it look like it's going to be one for the ages. but it also gives the impression that Faried is just standing in the paint waiting for it when in reality both players are moving, and toward opposite sides of the rim.

awesome dunk, but i saw the pic first and i have to be honest i was actually a wee bit disappointed because of it.

Glad I didn't see that pic until now. Never seen a pic look so much better than the actual footage like that..

Great dunk though, wish the NBA had more of it..

most players now days would try to eurostep and get a foul called instead
