Happy Birthday, dude!!

And Hakeem is my favorite player ever, by far. Grew up watching him in the 90's with my dad and brother and would go to the court and practice my dreamshake every day. Can't believe he's that old.

who doesn't like the dream? no one.

is he perhaps the most well liked, least polarizing elite player in league history? everyone loves the dream. he did it the right way.

And he has such a great story and was arguably one of the most gifted professional athletes ever. The guy grew up in Nigeria playing handball and never even started playing basketball until he was 15. He was only lightly recruited by UH, and quickly developed to help form one of the greatest college basketball teams of all time. Within a 7-year span, he went from playing his first game of basketball to averaging 20/12 in the NBA. That's insane.

Yup, seemed really down to earth. He used to even fast during Ramadan while still playing in games. Super OG

My favorite player of all time, the dream

dude, it is insane. hakeem is a special player and i appreciate the fact that he spends so much time and effort trying to pass on his mastery to todays youth. i respect that. as far as I'm concerned he continues to make basketball a better spot even today in retirement.
