Easily. Why would you leave a top 10 PF all time out?

For sure

Yes. His international play will be the difference maker eventually. Not sure if he gets in just based on NBA play, but he probably would eventually. Indispensable, and at times most valuable, piece to two NBA championships.

Yup been discussed a couple times and Pau is going to get in there.

We've talked about this a lot, and I think it's pretty obvious he's a lock for the Hall of Fame. I don't know that he's a First-Ballot caliber player, but he'll most certainly get in on the strength of this international play and multiple championship rings.

without the rings, does he?

he should definitely make it in my opinion. He gave a lot of life to the Grizzlies franchise and I want to say he took them to their first 50 win season (not completely sure). Then had a big impact on those championship Lakers teams. And he has some accolades to back it as well. ROTY, 4x All Star, 2x All NBA 3rd team, and one time 2nd team. Also, beyond all of that, he has been an amazing ambassador for Spain through basketball and took their national team to another level.

When I saw your response I was like WTF doesn't this dude know we're speaking of Paul George? Then I re-read the title. Haha.

So underrated.. He's easily a HOF. One of the most skilled big men. His defense was never good but the way this guy played was just phenomenal.

When you put his NBA accomplishments together with his accomplishments in international play, he is easily a lock for HOF. He could even retire right now and still make it.

Yep, no doubt about that.

I never understood the not a first ballot guy.....to me your either a hall of famer or not.

While I don't think I'd vote Gasol in, I am confident he will make it for the reason mentioned, his international play may make him all but a lock.

Yes, he's a the top 100 player of all time. Guaranteed HOFer

Definitely.

Remember, it is the basketball HOF, not the NBA HOF. So his international success is a factor as well.

I say Yes....first ballot. We tend to view players negatively as they age and decline and forget all the good work they put in when they were dominant. Those who are saying he won't make first Ballot are downgrading his past accomplishment and paying attention to the Gasol of now

First-ballot just means a guy who is such a strong candidate, he gets voted in his first year. Some guys' careers are so obvious that it's a no-brainer for 99 percent of voters. Some guys take a few years to reach the Hall of Fame.

Would have been an interesting debate if his whole career was spent in Memphis but the titles in LA clinched it.

it's the difference between Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, and then Joe Dumars for example. 1st ballot is reserved for the greatest of the great.

Absolutely. Top ten PF all time. International success. 2nd option on two championship teams. He's in without a doubt. He fits in well with the Joe Dumars, James Worthy, Robert Parish crowd.

Crooner would had cried reading this thread,so much love for Pau!Anyway I agree, absolutely Hofer...I dunno if he'll remain with the Lakers, but in a contender team Pau could make the difference.Right now he's playing good(with his usual up and downs, but good).

Yessir. His injuries the last few years have kind of tarnished his legacy but he's still one of the most skilled Bigs ever.

Unlike the majority of my Laker nation brethren I hope Pau retires in the purple and gold....

Yes, great player and probably the best international player ever if we combine NBA and FIBA accomplishments.

He should get in someday. He was great in the championship Lakers years, and is still good on occasion.
