at least once a game, someone taking the corner/sideline 3 steps out of bounds because there's practically no space there.
give each end 5 extra feet ffs.

Quoting the great Walt Clyde Frazier, when someone steps on the sideline:

"The court is 50 feet wide, but not wide enough."

To answer your question though, I don't think so. There is plenty of room already.

yes. even just by four feet.

Phil thinks so too.

No the corner 3 is the shortest 3 on the court no need to make it even easier for a player to hit it.

People flipped out about changing the ball a few years ago, changing the dimensions of the court seems a bit more ridiculous. I'm not saying its a bad idea, but I don't think it will ever happen.

Add one foot to each sideline. Anything more than that is excessive

they could subsequently push the corner 3 out to make every spot equidistant but allow for more space so shooters have more room to operate there.

You widen the court too much and you'll see a heavy domino affect: defenses will have a tougher time rotating, it will be easier to score

Defense will suffer.

The corner 3 is shorter distance to accommodate for the fact that there is less space to maneuver. Can't have everything.

Doesn't that make it harder to defend in general?

Make the court wider so the corner 3 is easier to hit... Great, then EVERY team will play with a stretch 4.

That would make the rest of the 3 line pushed back as well. Shooter just need to be more aware of where their feet are. God forbid they need to work harder to earn millions to play a sport.

If that's the case I'm surprised the league hasn't done it already. More points equals more dollars to stern

The same could be said about the size of the field in the NFL. More points doesn't always mean more dollars. Also, Stern has what? 2 months left?

No it doesn't seem necessary

Corner 3 is the easiest 3 point shot and one of the highest % shots in the game. Part of the beauty is how tough it is to tiptoe that line back there. I was a 3 point sniper during my playing days, and always had trouble staying behind the 3 but in-bounds from the corner.

If your gonna extend the court in any way, it should be to move the freakin' cameras back

it would also create an even bigger advantage for 3 point shooters. guys like novak and danny green could camp way out on the baseline. i don't like the idea, it's part of the tradeoff for getting such a high% shot.

These are my thoughts exactly

You could even just add 6 inches to each sideline, widening the court a total of 1 foot from each sideline.

Should they leave most space between the bench/crowd and the court? Sure. Should they widen the playing area itself? No.

If you're stepping out of bounds, you've got problems. I've seen plenty of guys just chilling in the corner waiting for the ball and they don't have trouble with the line.

The amount of wiggle room you have when parked in the corner is down to inches - its not easy to tiptoe that line in the corner.

widen the court and make the three pointer equal everywhere.

I think you missed the word equidistant. Right now the corner 3 is shorter than from an angle or straight on.
