View Full Version : Retired/inactive players under 35 you really miss

I was watching a YouTube clip of a random duel between T-Mac and Gilbert Arenas and got a little sad, realizing these guys really aren't that old. As a Rockets fan, I really miss the days of Yao and T-Mac. I love the current team, but Yao especially was my guy. Got to watch him from day one, and loved his game and class so much. Besides Hakeem, my favorite Rocket ever. I also loved Agent Zero. Not many guys that colorful or entertaining still around. I also miss a few others, but who do you miss watching?

T-Mac was my favorite player, I was a fan of Yao, those two would be at the top of my list.

Yao Ming for sure. I mean the guy started out to looking like a bust but then transcended the Center position. Even though being at 7'6'' was a gigantic advantage for him, he still developed a complete game. If he had stayed healthy no doubt in my mind that he'd be the best Center in the league and a top 5 player in the league overall right now. His shooting had range with Dirk Nowitzki type of skills. His defense became close to if not elite, he could block shots, rebound the ball on both ends of the floor, make the smart passes, etc. He was a great pleasure to watch.

Iverson wouldn't be playing much anyways if he was still in the league at like 110 years old.

Brandon Roy was a lot of fun to watch.

Yao, especially with the quality of centers in this league. T-Mac, B-Roy, Agent Zero, J-Killa, B-Diddy, White Mamba, The Goods, Larry Hughes, Mike Bibby and even though he is over 35 I've got to mention Jason Williams. I miss a lot of the late 90's and early 00's players that I grew up watching.

He's 36, but Marbury.

But also guys like, Gilbert, Yao, Roy, Baron Davis and TMac.

I was at a raptors-kings game last year and a guy was carrying a sign that said

"Bring back Bieber" but the rest was crossed out and replaced with"Bibby"

Nope. I actually am a huge Iverson fan. I am a big defender of his. Iverson is at the age now where it's not a bummer he's retired. I wish he could have had a better end to his career, but I am not sure him being retired seems as weird as these other guys, considering most guys drafted in 96 are retired, with a few exceptions.

Rip Hamilton. I thought he would have a Reggie Miller type career and play into his 40s. Ego got to big and his talent dropped off quick.
