Now I know why the Pacers are so good defensively. Hibbert and West are allowed to hack the other team without getting fouls, especially at home. That's why the want that home court. If the refs called the games fairly Hibbert and West would be in foul trouble by the 3rd quarter.

LeBron just took a terrible shot to get a 2-for-1...like, the worst shot he'll take all year.

I have no idea who does and who doesn't lob those up with no regard for anything, though. Can't even pretend like I know who does and doesn't. Though, knowing how he's probably got the pickiest shot selection of any star (not necessarily a bad thing), I wouldn't be surprised if he blatantly doesn't.

Kobe shoots those all the time, and a bunch of other Ill advised shots.

Honestly kobe is a much better shooter than he is given credit for. I know shot selection is part of the game, but when kobe isn't taken a forced shot he's a pretty solid shooter. Much better than his TS% would indicate at least.

Pacers played good defense. Somehow West and Hibbert only ended up with 2 fouls each. The best player on the Pacers is definitely Hibbert. But in the playoffs if he gets into foul trouble, which is likely going to happen because he hacks a lot, the Pacers are going to be in big trouble.

totally not a bad thing.. i just know i've seen him at end of quarteres just hold the ball and let timne run out. you're right about the 2 for 1 thing though i've seen him take some deep/off balance 3's before. he hits them every now and then too

I did the research on half court buzzer beating prayer shots!

Looking at the shot charts on NBA.com, and corresponding video for this season and last.

Maybe I'll dig deeper into this later and make a thread. But just the three mentioned...

This year:

Durant: 0 of those shot attempts

LeBron: 1 bizarre one I remember against the Magic where he shot it from half court trying to get a foul

Curry: 4 this year. 1 vs. Memphis 11/9, 1 vs. ORL 12/31, 1 vs. CHA 12/9 and 1 vs. LAL 12/21

Last year:

Durant: 1 against the Jazz on 11/30/12, right on the logo at half court to end the half, missed

LeBron: 1 against Cleveland on 11/24/12 from beyond half court, air balled it

Curry: attempted, and missed, 7.

Older:

Durant: Looks like one in 11-12, zero in 10-11, 2 in 09-10

LeBron: Looks like he had 5 in 11-12, and 9+ the each of the few years that. So, he used to really love chucking them...not quite as much any more.

Curry: Zero in 11-12 (only played 26 games), 8 (?) in 10-11, 6 (maybe more, hard to tell) in 09-10

So, Curry does indeed have very few hesitations doing it. LeBron used to jack them up a ton, but not much the last two seasons. KD has always refused to do it.

That trade was a bit tricky though at the time. Curry's durability was a legit question. Udoh's future looked potentially decent. Bogut's health was also an uncertainty. Obviously there were a lot of Monta fans that felt it was awful, and lately it's been nice seeing people's perceptions of players like Monta, Rudy etc. change a bit, in part because of these trades.

nice find! i knew Durant was like that but didn't realize he never really did it at all. Lebron sounds right, it seemed (at least to me) he was a lot more free with that stuff in cleveland. but with his high %s that he's had as of late i can see why he's like that.

Yeah, the thing was it was a risk/reward that the team needed to take if they ever wanted to contend. You can't pull in a top tier center (when healthy) at many points. And as most in the know realize, Monta was a detriment to the team (both in his ball stopping ways and in mitigating Curry). Even if Bogut got injured, I fully endorsed the balls that trade took.

and haha nice tracking on the buzzer beaters. Add 1 more for Curry in tonights game. Really surprising it's so few to me tbh. Not surprising that Lebron's is a more recent development, I think he's commented on it actually.

I think they could go on a run, but I'm not quite convinced two wins proves that. Starting on the 17th, however, they start an 8 game home stretch. That might be their chance (LAC and MIA are the only winning teams on that stretch, too)

That's great... Duncan avoids putting any weight on that left leg lol. looks like he's on 1 leg out there a lot of the times actually.

Great game & fight by your guys. That shot looked great just short. I'm shocked they drew up a play from that far out with nearly 2 seconds left

48/7/5 +4 stls 2 blks 0 TO's for KD. OKC loses by double digits to Utah. Only shot 41% from the field, but the FT's brought him up to a 60% TS. They could use some Westbrook back in their life.

Or Harden...

They have the best record 2 years in a row without Harden so NO, they just need westbrook back. STFU with the harden ****.

The problem is they don't consistently give these performances as a team.

Memphis and Toronto both hit new levels without him. Kings the same, so...

He doesn't focus on anything but shooting, and you'll see soon that most of the time it's not at 50%.

They were great tonight though. They have a way of stepping up for big teams.

Yeah, it seems like we play up to competition then play down to competition... Beat teams like Heat, Rockets, kept it close with Spurs, then lost a couple games we should've won.
