View Full Version : Jason Kidd asked the Nets to come back to finish a loss after they left

The Spurs were up 113-92 heading into the final 24.2 seconds of their blowout win over the Nets on Tuesday, and with the teamís record set to turn over to 10-21, the Nets decided to bail early after giving some midcourt handshakes Ė even though it was clear that the Nets would have the final possession of the game unless the Spurs decided to shoot it and then crash the offensive glass.
They didnít, dribbling the 24-second shot clock out instead, necessitating that the Nets would get the ball back with two-tenths of a second left in the game. The problem was that no Net was around to end this monstrosity under league rules.
Thatís right: Kidd had to call a timeout with his team down 21 points, with 0.2 seconds left, just to chase some players out of the locker room and back onto the court.
LMAO ,they were too disappointed to remember the rules ?But Kidd could just let the Nets get a 8-second violation for not dribbling the ball ,no need to call a timeout ,right ?
a new year joke :D

I like it.

Well that's disappointing.

Kidd was being inconsistent here.
1) Last time he ask his guy to hit him so as to get a timeout.
2)Long time ago,2010, he bumped into then Hawks Coach Woodson to draw a T-foul.
These were the proof that he was a maestro of the rules. Now did the losing record take away his magic ? Since when did he refuse to take advantage of the underlying rules ?just let a 8 second violation happen.didnt he know that was humiliating for all the players to come back ?

That's pretty pathetic. Has this ever happened before? The players should've been fined.

But I thought the Nets had the best starting lineup in the league and I am an idiot for saying they were old and would suck. And Joe Johnson is 10x better than Jeremy Lin.

He would have been fired long ago if his name weren't Jason Kidd.

The Nets fail. So hard. They are just in a **** situation.

Honestly at this point firing him accomplishes what? Any coach you bring in will be set up to fail.
