But you still have Pop

Yea, I wouldn't be surprised if they play well. I understand it from a coaches point a view, you have a team playing 7 games in 10 nights in a different city each time (older team) and then put them on national TV on a b2b against a rested team? It's the same thing he did last year w/Miami it was 4 games in 5 nights & Miami had like 2-3 games in about a week's span.

I'm sure part of it is for rest and wanted to rest his guys, but the other part if just a subtle FU to stern lol. For the last time

I had already bet GSW, but this is great news for that. Still, not for a second do I count them out. It's a machine that generally doesn't slow down regardless of personnel. I remember that b2b where they sat everyone against a full Miami squad in Miami last year and damn near took it.

kdspurman
12-19-2013, 05:28 PM
Really shocked Pop hasn't sat them sooner. -"Spurs on the last game of a 5 in 7, but in the middle of a 11 in 16. Haven't had 2 days off since 12/8-9, won't have 2 days until 12/27-28."

Yea.. It won't be easy though. I mean they're going to have to play amazing defense lol. It'll be a nice chance to see if Leonard can score effectively. I'm expecting he, Belinelli, & Diaw to step up.

They will. I love that we have Iggy for Kawhi now though. Belly will probably draw Klay. Should still be a fun game that truly could be a test.

Yea, Iggy was on TP at times too, it's just nice to have that guy you can throw on someone like Parker to a guy like Dirk lol. I'm hoping it's at least entertaining and not a blowout.

I think basic stats do a VERY weak job at summing up "PG skills"...but...

SETH is averaging 7.8 assists and 4 TOs in 37 minutes of action in the D-League. He was also hardly a "true PG" in college, which is worth noting.

STEPH is averaging 9 assists and 4.2 TOs in 37 minutes of action in the NATIONAL BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION.

Maybe if SETH was a great college player I'd be more willing to believe the hype that 11 games in the D League has caused him to gather, but nah...I HIGHLY doubt there's a SINGLE thing he does better than Steph.

Career: not trash. College PG skills: non existent. A lot of that might have to due with the fact that Cook was the "point guard" on that team, but still. He wasn't a "point guard" in college. I'm wondering why he's not in the NBA right now from all the games I've watched. He's comfortable making showtime like passes now on fastbreaks, gets the ball into the post easily, doesn't pass off the jump, decent behind the back, good bounce pass, he's very very good at throwing the lob pass and working the pick n' roll. He should translates into the NBA.

No slight against Steph. His money is and always will be that jumpshot and his exceptional first step drive. PG skills wise, he plays wit some of the best finishers in the NBA in the last 10 yrs. Seth Curry is a better distributor from my own two eyes. He is. I've been wondering why he's not in the NBA.

How would they be able to finish without a great PG delivering? And apparently you're not watching this game and seeing how terrifically Steph is passing the ball. Also, Iggy has not been here recently so you can't use him in your list of "good finishers".

But it's just crazy that you think Seth is better than Steph at ANYTHING. Steph is FAR superior in literally EVERYTHING. EVERY POSSIBLE DAMN THING. If you don't see that, you are either blind, or smoking marijuana.

Steph could literally not pass the ball once in an NBA game and be better at creating shots for his teammates than the potential peak PG play of his brother. That's not a knock on lil' man.

To insinuate he has better PG abilities overall is about the dumbest comment I've seen all year.

KniCks4LiFe
12-20-2013, 12:10 AM
How would they be able to finish without a great PG delivering?

their athleticism?

And apparently you're not watching this game and seeing how terrifically Steph is passing the ball. Also, Iggy has not been here recently so you can't use him in your list of "good finishers".

actually I am. I saw telegraphed pass to DLee that ended up a TO b/c he took too long. I saw a lob pass to Iggy, which Iggy made happen, b/c that ball was too high. His post pass to Bogut was good.

But it's just crazy that you think Seth is better than Steph at ANYTHING. Steph is FAR superior in literally EVERYTHING. EVERY POSSIBLE DAMN THING. If you don't see that, you are either blind, or smoking marijuana.

Never said that. I said he's the better distributor.

Get the homer glasses off and actually watch their games.

Yea, don't know how 9 assists isn't indicative of how good of a true PG he is. Just because he is a fantastic shooter does not mean he's not a true PG. It's not like you can only be one or the other, he's both.

Kemba Walker is the most efficient player in the NBA.

Also Matt Bonner is a FIERCE inside presence.

Tim Duncan is a top 600 PF at best.

Al-Farouq Aminu? Allstar 2014.

And who could forget the fact that Muggsy Bogues success was a direct result of the fact that he was able to tower over his opponents?

Or maybe how Shaq's potential was limited due to the fact that he wasn't bulky or strong down low.

And of course, Seth Curry is a better playmaker than Stephen Curry.

Oh yeah, and Darko Milicic is the best player from the 2003 NBA draft.

See? The Seth>Steph statement fits in perfectly with the rest of those, because it's absolutely preposterous.

if you get a ball from your athleticism anyone can throw that ball. If you make your points off getting a hand off 24 foot away and iso dribbling your way to the hole, that still doesn't make the guy that passed the ball to you a superior PG.

I don't want to sound like I'm beating a dead horse. But Steph has to set a better tempo as a PG. This is SAS, you can't just be running them out of gyms anymore.

Can we drop Steph??? He's absolute ****. Seth is so much better. Averaging 7.8 assists per game in the D-Leauge.

Man Belinelli put a little to much on that pass to splitter, but I hate seeing him on the Spurs and not the bulls. I wish they never let him go! He's putting in work out there.

If the Dubz are serious about trading Klay, you do need a PG. TOR has one.

Seems like a lot. Obviously with Curry/Klay I get it, but gotta think @ some point start running some sets to move the defense and get some easy buckets. Though easy buckets for them are probably 3's too, so who knows

San Antonio are easily one of the most entertaining teams to watch for people who truly love basketball. Awesome team play and the passing is a thing of beauty. The Spurs have never been boring to watch.

Aiyo I know this really isn't the place for NFL talk, but I am truly confused and bewildered about the fact that the Lions did not run away with the NFC North after A Rodgers and Cutler went down. They seem to find ways to loose lol.
