He has just improved since his rookie year. He gets way to little credit for his athleticism.

I have a question, is Igoudala really all that much better than Parsons?Iguodala is better if his team can use him correctly. He could never be a #1 or #2 guy on a good team. That's why many people are underrating him, because he was asked to do too much, and was not able to.
He's the perfect #3 on a team.Absolute defensive stopper against 3 positions, great point forward, and efficient scorer when needed.

Parsons is not elite at anything,he's just good at everything.

Aside from "defensive stopper" you just described parsons in the bolded.

Hence, my earlier post.

I had VERY good seats to Pacers @ Rockets last year, and a teenage girl 3 rows up would shout "Chandler Parsons! Chandler!" Every time he came down the court. It was endearing for about a quarter, then it was just annoying.

I've been a fan of his game back when I wanted AI traded from Philly so Iggy didn't have to play with a ballhog. I've probably seen him play more than you have... I have tremendous amount of respect for his defense and playmaking ability. He has intangibles and can put up numbers on the stat sheet.

Edit: Most Rockets fans are aware of his game because the Rockets front office had been interested in him for years. We even got excited years ago when he made a tweet referencing Houston close to the trade deadline.

Asik will most likely be gone so that should clear up some space. I doubt he is going anywhere especially after recruiting Dwight. But this is a business so nothing is certain.

Read the details on the best contract in the NBA: (Chandler Parsons)

Whereas Taylor and Budinger agreed to give the Rockets team options for Years 3 and 4, Parsons and his agent negotiated for additional financial security. If the Rockets do not waive Parsons by January 1, 2013 (a highly unlikely event at this point), then Parsons’s salary for the 2013-14 season ($926,500) becomes partially guaranteed for $600,000; and if Parsons is not waived by June 30, 2013, his 2013-14 salary becomes fully guaranteed. Furthermore, if the Rockets do not waive Parsons by January 1, 2014, his salary for the 2014-15 season ($964,750) becomes partially guaranteed for $624,771 (don’t ask me how they got that figure); and if Parsons is not waived by June 30, 2014, his 2014-15 salary becomes fully guaranteed.

Parsons is a better shooter/scorer then Iggy at this point. Iggy is a better defender and passer, but Parsons is also a very good defender and passer. He always finds the open man, never forces a shot. Rebounding is a wash.

I loved him at FL but didn't see an NBA stud on his horizon. I thought he was going to be Joe Alexander 2.0. Shame Budinger can't stay healthy I think he could have similar success in this league.

Didn't read the thread.

Parsons is a driving nightmare in that offense. I've been more than impressed with his body control. Combine that with his height and outside shooting and that dude is a tough guard that only 4-5 players can hold down. When you need LeBron to stop you???

Rockets is legit, I don't care what anyone else says about Howard and 'em at this time. I pretty much hate Houston too, so there's that.

Some people have all the luck.

I actually have a somewhat serious question.

Please people don't attack me for asking but what happens if in an unlikely event that Chandler Parsons turns into one of the best players in the league?

...Will the NBA market this guy to an almost all time high levels? I mean, it has been a long time since a great white player like Larry Bird was in the league. Only difference is that Chandler Parsons is actually good looking, which means he would be 10x more marketable.

...yes, this is a race question. I'm being half-serious.

Well any superstar player gets marketed like crazy..add in that player is White (America likes White people) and good looking (America likes White-good looking people) then yes that player would explode market wise. Similar to Linsanity. You gotta love the underdog. (It's the NBA- if you're not Black your in the minority/the underdog)

But still a silly conversation, as much as I love Parsons (I LOVE him) he's still the 3rd option on his team, so...

alexander_37
12-17-2013, 12:34 AM
I don't think Parsons is a max money type player honestly. I also think the fact that he is white makes people give him less credit than he deserves athletically. He does basically everything well except creating his own shot. He is like the anti Rudy Gay.
