Steph has the cheapest contract in the NBA for a top shooter. I still give the nod to LeBron. You know how much Miami makes off his $19M-$22M contract? just in endorsements and tv ads?

why you such a Golden State homer? Steph ain't giving you no Karrine Stevens special so hop off. A contract comes wit team perks and player perks. That has to go in wit best contract in the NBA. The Heat make bank profits from his contract, more than Curry could. So one is paid 9 million more but making way more profit for both sides.

Its definitely Curry. He got ripped off big time. Even in the last year (4 years from now) he will only make 12m.

Then Horford 12m/3yr, Ellis 8m/3yr, TP 12m/2, are all in the tie for second neighborhood.

I'd like all 3. Was just listing a few good deals. I don't recall ever saying one was the best.

Is nobody else allowed to post other good contracts because we all know Curry is the best?

Yeah from the standpoint of a team making money off a player then Kobe and then Lebron probably have the best 2 contracts. Maybe Jeremy Lin next? Not sure how much money he makes in the Rockets in the Asian markets.

So then this isn't about the best contract in the NBA. This thread is worded poorly. B/c what y'all want to know is who for their production on an NBA court excluding rookies has the cheapest contract in the NBA. If this is the case, then the answer is between DeMarcus Cousins and Damian Lilliard.

In my opinion if we can't count those then we shouldn't be able to count Lebron James. If anyone is deserving of a max contract in the NBA it's Lebron, but because of their formation of the big 3 they took "pay cuts". But let's be realistic, he should be on a max deal. Either way, Steph curry comes to mind. Luol deng comes to mind. Tony Parker comes to mind.

But he's a very good 2 way player.Yeah,no doubt he is a good #2/3 option on good teams. But he was in Denver too,and I don't think paying almost 8 million per is a bargain for a 16/3/2.5 guy,who was bad in the playoffs for them.If he sustains this year's numbers though,no doubt that contract looks good.Still not better than Steph's imo.

The rules were no rookies deals and no max. Lebron is "technically" on a max contract because it was the max contract he could get in order to do what he wanted. Obviously in a free market he would get 80mil+ but early in the thread it was decided to exclude max deals.

Excluding Lebron... which would be the obvious first choice, since he didn't take a max deal..

I'd go with Monta Ellis, the way he's been playing and is providing such a positive influence on the mavs, I didn't expect that at all.

Curry is also a good one, but for now mavs are doing a bit better, and I do believe Ellis had a huge impact on that.

Curry definitely deserves a Max but why it wasnt given?
was that because he wanted to give his team the cap flexibility?
if so, then he was so lofty since there are so many hypocritical marque player who claim they long for victory but do exactly the opposite thing :(
if not, WOW, he was underpaid massively, should have taken a shorter contract like 1 or 2 years and then ask for a max. But on the other hand, it would give him a reputation for being greedy in the eyes of some fans.
What a perplexing problem.

There's a reason nobody wanted to pay that midget, he's not worth anything more.

Bad defense, stupid shot selection, poor court vision, ball-hog. He brings one thing and one thing only and that's energy. Sometimes that energy leads to scoring but most nights it's just energy.
